Good player, but he's been banged up pretty badly the last few seasons. Still, could be a nice pickup if the price is right. |

Good write-up Gunner
I would be all about a return to Pittsburgh for Malone if the price is right. If they can sign him at like 1.5, he would be a huge asset, even with the injury problems. The thought of Malone getting back on Malkin's wing, with Neal now being there, is a great thought. That would be a nasty line to play against. |

could fit in well in Boston if they lose Jagr &/or Horton |

Boston won't have the cap space when they resign Rask. He is getting at least 5 mil a year. |

He's a good solid meat and potatoes kinda player he's just made of glass. |

The penguins should fix there goalie problem first. But malone would be a good pick up for any team if he can stay healthy. |

I would be cool with Malone coming back on a 1 or 2 year deal. Nothing more though. |

Vokoun was 4th best in EVSV% last year in the NHL (.9390%).
Only Bobrovsky, Anderson, and Howard were better.
In the last 5 years, only Tim Thomas and Tuuka Rask have a better EVSV% than Tomas Vokoun. |

Thought he was nuts to leave in the first place...Would be a good move if your to bring him back in the fold. Did he play with Crosby or Malkin more? I remember Crosby mostly but that's probably not right. |

He'll fit right in with Crosby and Malkin both on the ice, and the amount of time they all spend off it. |

Yes... If he could be had for like 2 years x $1.5 million, that would be nice. |

Getting a top 6 at 1.5 mil would be nice, especially a guy who already knows how to play with Malkin. A Malone-Malkin-Neal line would be nasty. |

I am assuming the buyout would lower his salary demands, especially for a return to Pittsburgh. |

31,500,000 reasons why he left... I'd sign a 7 year contract to work in Siberia for that money, let alone on a beach in Tampa. |

It will be interesting to see what these buyout guys sign for. Having that money in the bank obviously makes it easier to take less to go somewhere, but there will still be a market for them, so you won't get them for $600k. |

My Random off the wall Letang trade of the day:
Signed Letang & 3rd round pick to the Avs for the 1st overall and Steve Downie
Then turn around the 1st overall to Calgary for all their 1st round picks, plus Glencross. |

NO!
Id like to see a Brandon Saad homecoming, but Malone is always injured, hes older, slower, more injured. He would look like Morrow. Ive never watched a Pens vs Bolts game and though, "man I wish we still had Malone" I've always thought, "WHeres Malone, isnt he a bolt? |
