I'd like to go to Boston, but thats because there are some awesome schools there and it'd be great to do some post doc research there. Though Chicago isn't a slouch for people in my field either - lumlums

Franson is not better than Petry at this point. One year of soft minutes on the team with the highest SH% in the league. Give him a year or two. To me, personally, he's a MA Bergeron type. But he's young and will improve - TheNugeIsHuge
I think he's definitely higher than MA Bergeron, and Carlyle will use the summer to get him trained at taking the body and being more physical. I like Petry's game, but I think that once Franson starts being a bit more aggressive, then he'll blow him out of the water. |

Chicago has a great music scene if you're into rock and especially punk rock. Non of this chicken poop bullpoop radio poop where fags sing pop music while wearing a studded belt and mohawk. - DTF69
Sweet. Maybe I should pay it a visit sooner rather than later |

Thoughts on trade with Leafs?
7th for Franson, 21st, and scrivens? - pbrsimps
No thanks.
We can get some one equal to scrivens as a ufa. Franson is not a #1 dmen which is what we need.
Sorry but for me this is far away from being a deal. |

Did you watch RAW yet? It was like the best on they've done in a long (frank)ing while. There were actually promos! I love promos. - DTF69
Really? I'd imagine they're scanning our Wrestling thread looking for ideas. I haven't checked it out yet... I'll take a look now sure. |

How about Jake Gardner straight up for number 7 pick. That's pretty fair |

Such a homer call.
How the eff can franson be considered better than petry at this point?
He plays less minutes, softer minutes, isnt nearly as strong defensively, isnt as physical and isnt even a better skater which is codys bread and butter.
This is a laughable debate before the playoffs started.
Then cody plays 3or4 solid games and hes better than petry?
And Petry is better offensively than franson is defensively
No question as of today; petry >> franson
And how would scrivens really challenge dubs for his starter spot? He had a worse sv% and gaa with half the amount of starts and shots against. |

Meh, I'd still want more. If we throw in a prospect, like Marincin or Musil, would we be able to snag a 2nd round this year from you? That'd be pretty fair too. |

What? Ud like to erase the couple years of development and give marincin for a 2nd?
Have u read about his progress?
Why do we do this? |

I am thinking we are going to pick up Johannson from Columbus.
Isn't he a 3rd yr pro? A center and drafted by Howsen. We also tried to trade for him before.

Note how I said OR Musil. Yeah, I understand his progress is improving, but I strongly believe that the players in this years second round are a higher caliber of hockey and will possibly be more successful than Marincin. Or Musil for that matter. Nothing against Marincin though. |

A big, two way guy that can skate, thats had 2 years of development over a draftee this year. That we also got in the second round.
No prob if u think we're gonna nab a sure star bro. Fair enough.
But imo it's a backwards move |

I wouldn't mind him. I think we might look for someone with more experience at centre. He could be on the second line I guess. Moving Gagner to the wing and replacing him Johansen could work.
BUT, then you have 3 players on the same line who shoot right handed. But that's if you decide to put Gagner, Johansen and Eberle on the same line. You'd have to bring down Yak onto the second line because he shoots left. Plus if Yak played on the first line with Hall and RNH then it'd be the same situation, except everyone shoots left. This doesn't really matter anyway.
But overall, I guess he could be a good addition. What would we have to give for him and would it be worth it? That's the question. |
