Franson is not better than Petry at this point. One year of soft minutes on the team with the highest SH% in the league. Give him a year or two. To me, personally, he's a MA Bergeron type. But he's young and will improve

I think he's definitely higher than MA Bergeron, and Carlyle will use the summer to get him trained at taking the body and being more physical. I like Petry's game, but I think that once Franson starts being a bit more aggressive, then he'll blow him out of the water.

He plays less minutes, softer minutes, isnt nearly as strong defensively, isnt as physical and isnt even a better skater which is codys bread and butter.

I wouldn't mind him. I think we might look for someone with more experience at centre. He could be on the second line I guess. Moving Gagner to the wing and replacing him Johansen could work.

BUT, then you have 3 players on the same line who shoot right handed. But that's if you decide to put Gagner, Johansen and Eberle on the same line. You'd have to bring down Yak onto the second line because he shoots left. Plus if Yak played on the first line with Hall and RNH then it'd be the same situation, except everyone shoots left. This doesn't really matter anyway.

But overall, I guess he could be a good addition. What would we have to give for him and would it be worth it? That's the question.
