Just read the article and don't see him really talking about trading Bjugstad at all...
- isles10289

Bjugstad needs Teuvo Teravainen on his line. Tallon knows this.

Seabrooke and Teravainen for the #2. Maybe add Bolland. Panthers will contend in the east next year with the D solidified and the offense will be dynamic for years with TT feeding Bjugstad and others.

It will need to wait until after the parade in Chicago though.

He can play wing and center. He played wing this year and he played center in the CHL.

You're darn right Bjugstad needs TT on his line. So we'll offer you our 1st, Dave Bolland, and a mid-level prospect in exchange for him (and perhaps Goc.)

You do know that when he said 2nd he means your 2nd overall pick and not a 2nd round pick, right?
Just making sure.

It would not surprise if Buffalo would make that deal.
I think they would.

- kingcong39

Yes I know that. This is a deep draft. I like Monahan.

Let's be real.. if Tallon is going to make a trade with anyone, it's Chicago or Vancouver. If the deal is your #1, Bolland, TT, and Seabrook... sign the dotted line.

While I like MacKinnon, I'm tired of banking on prospects. I really am. I think the buyout period is going to dramatically change what players are available. If Richards is available, Tallon should really go hard after him. He is going to be looked at by teams like Florida, Nashville, and Tampa. Sign him for $3-3.5 mil for three years and let him patrol the top center spot. Bjugstad will take over. We have Trochek, Shore, Huberdeau... hopefully we re-sign Mueller.

You know much about this Petrovic kid. He looks like a decent prospect. Might have to add him to the deal

No way. When he was brought up last year he out performed Gudbranson. He and Gudbranson are solid on our blue line and will be for a long time. I like Brennan, too. Robak is a really good defenseman and he may be available. Caruso as well. Look them up.

Keep dreaming. For starters, the organization has no intent of dealing Brent Seabrook. He is one of the best defense-men in the league and the team wouldn't risk trading a proven all-star in exchange for a player that could potentially become one. A deal involving TT would likely need to occur in order to net the #2 overall pick, but if you are expecting both TT and Seabrook, you'll have to pony up more than that. Doesn't really matter though, since Seabrook isn't going anywhere.

You just traded Brennan. I'v seen some of Robak he looks like a good D-man as well. Ill check the other guy out.

Oh.. right. Well San Antonio, then. Sorry man, just lost my grandma. It's been rough. Still love ya!
- Panthers88

Sorry for your loss buddy. I just lost my grandma about a month and a half, so I feel your pain. I can still hear her voice and see her face..... it sucks...
Anyways, back to the article. Dan did make the article sound like he wants Bjugstad out, or at least ask who the odd man out is and usually that indicates the player who will no longer remain with the organization.
Imho, I believe we need to re-sign Weiss, add Mackinnon and then let Tallon and Dineen figure out the rest. We would go from very weak at center to very deep, and I'd rather the latter. Would anyone complain about having Weiss,Mackinnon,Bjugstad,Shore,Matthias, and Goc as our centers and try to figure out the lineups? We could move Matthias to wing as well as try Mackinnon on wing as well, until Goc's contract expires (assuming Tallon doesn't resign him) We could send Shore to the AHL this year to develop more and move Matthias to wing, and now we'd be left with Weiss,Mackinnon,Goc, and Bjustad as our centers. If we were unable to bring Weiss back, for whatever reason, and NYR buys out Richards, I would like to see Tallon bring him on board. Regardless of the situation at hand, Mackinnon isn't ready to be our top line center right away and I think adding that amount of pressure on his shoulders will slow down his progress.

SON OF A!! I loved TJ Brennan.. but Butler is a solid depth move. If we've learned one thing watching the playoffs, it's that you need a very good 3rd and 4th line. Butler fits that role well.

Weiss is going to be the most sought after FA on the market.. one of them. I don't think he comes back. I'm bummed that we just traded Brennan. Damnit.

The trading of Brennan makes me think that Tallon expects the Avs to take MacKinnon and he plans on taking Jones if that happens. Hold on to your hats!

Right.. there's no way we take Jones. He's elite, love him, but how many times are we going to take a defenseman with our top pick? We have Robak, Gudbranson, Petrovic, Matheson, Racine, Caruso, Kulikov. These guys are on top of Jovo, Kuba, Weaver..

Campbell/Kulikov
Gudbranson/Jovo
Kuba/Weaver

Doesn't look finished to me.

Lineup:

Versteeg-?-Flash
Kopecky-?-Huberdeau
Matthias-Goc-Bergenheim
Butler-Shore-Upshall

Campbell-Kulikov
Gudbranson- Jovo (?)
Kuba- Weaver (FA, Petrovic)

Markstrom
Clem

I like the bottom six! Kopecky isn't a second line guy. We need a few additions for sure. Maybe we trade Upshall and/or Kuba.

Roy can't ignore the fact that Colorado needs serious help on the blue line. Unless this is addressed some other way, he has to take Jones. If he takes MacKinnon, my fear is Tallon will select Jones. I honestly think we need help up front, although we do have a lot of elite prospects; Howden, Knight, Trocheck, Bjugstad.. I trust Tallon's judgement. Oh, can't forget the sleeper in our system: Alexander Delnov.

EDIT: The buyout period will really shed light on a lot of things.. for example, players like Richards can be bought out. We may buy out Upshall or Kuba. If we do buy-out Kuba, I think Jones is our pick. Also, we can't overlook the fact that Jovo's status is up in the air.

Actually... we can't lose regardless. We have so many prospects at either position.

Ovi wins Hart, Subban Norris.

Any news on Calder?

TSN’s Bob McKenzie has a feeling he knows who the rookie of the year is:

“The NHL had no choice but to inform players that they’d won. It’s usually a big secret: They don’t know until the envelope is pulled in Las Vegas. Can’t do that this year.”

“[When Subban’s Norris leaked] lot of the drama was went out of it. In fact, Subban is the Norris Trophy winner. And now we’re hearing word that Jonathan Huberdeau will be in Chicago on Saturday. You can infer from that that the Florida Panther forward is going to be the rookie of the year.”
