you are welcome here

you guys beat Boston with a major player missing all three games this year, still I don't think it's a done deal getting past them

Oduya? No, I don't. Give me Grossmann.
- bodiva88

as far as 4th-7th defensemen, I prefer them to be shutdowns. 4th-7th offensive type dmen tend to be liabilities. I'd rather have offense integrated in my top 3, with them preferably being two-way dmen or a good offensive dman that isn't a liability, and have the bottom 3 be all shut-down guys that you don't need to worry about. Hence I'd rather have Grossmann over Oduya.

I'd rather have a puckmover and defensive defenseman on each line. Overloading one way or another eventually causes issues. Big reason why I'm not a fan of keeping Grossmann and Coburn together long term.

C'mon... I heard Neil Smith crying today about how it's been twenty years since the Rangers won the Cup.

It would be nice if we had players capable of getting us over the hump instead of just getting us there and dropping the ball. Lindros didn't show up and neither did anyone else. I can at least say the 2010 team put up a fight.

How is Lamarche? Is he just a project? Same question for Raffl. Will we be seeing either of these guys playing in the NHL?

Still needs to sign Mathias Niederberger, no clue why this goalie isn't signed yet.

Maybe not, but I guess it's a coincidence that all 3 players were key contributors on Cup winning teams, while the Flyers received drek in return and are looking at being on the ass end of a 40 year Cup drought.
- PLindbergh31

You should be pissed off more that he signed Beezer over Cujo.....that was Clarkies biggest mistake....actually on his first go-a-round, trading the Beast was up there

Beezer was definitely a mistake. Clarkie had him in Florida plus Beezer was cheaper.

But the Beast move was a personal decision (salary demands) and was a flat out disgrace. By far, his biggest blunder.

Absolutely the worst move Clarke made. I'm still mad about that from time to time...of course McCrimmon remains my favorite player of all time.

The first two years Brad was with the Flyers, he played just OK as Peeters played lights out for Boston winning the most games in the league his first year there.

At the beginning of his third year here, I remember saying to myself, "who is this guy?" as Brad stepped up his game in a huge way and was absolutely terrific, and continued to be so until Clarke exiled him for daring to demand a better salary.

He did have his struggles the first year, especially, but by the end of his time here he was a core piece. I still don't think they've adequately replaced him.

Maybe just the usual jumping of the gun before a deal is set in stone, from a player excited that his pro career is about to take a big step. Hasn't this happened a few times with various players over the past couple seasons?

The way I understand it, any player who turns 21 by September 15 and has gone undrafted or unsigned is a UFA.
- mayorofangrytown

Thanks, I didn't know that.
