The Canucks should select the top rated WHL player available at the time of their pick. Doesn't matter who else is still available, take a (frank)ing WHL player.
- Scooby_Doo

I'm guessing you wanted Kyle Beach over Cody Hodgson, right? Don't lie.

Stick to the OHL IMO, I trust the team's OHL scouts the most. But best player available no matter what position or league is always the way to go, especially when drafting late.

Domi will be taken early...
- Canuckfan2006

Yup, top 20 easily, and top 15 is quite possible.

Leblanc for 24th overall would be a fair deal.
- DrRecchi

Isn't he supposed to be a 3rd liner at best?

Mantha,Morrisey,Lazar,Domi,Pulock and Ristolainen are my picks
- RF_4eva

Outside of maybe Mantha, none of those guys should be available at 24. I think Lazar will be taken a few picks ahead, ditto with Ristolainen but I could see a scenario where those two guys might just slip to 24. Lazar was apparently impressive in the playoffs so that's why I think his stock is up. Mantha has a rep for being a lazy player who doesn't use his size enough which is why I could see him falling. Don't know much about the Finnish d-man but I did see him in the top 20 of most mocks.

I'm interested to see where Petan goes.

Long-term I think he projects similair to a Burrows type.

18-20 goals low end, 30 goals high end.

It really depends on who he plays with

Don't know, I guess it wasn't an important enough story...

It's posted on CDC, which is usually done hours after everyone else has reported it.

I'm thinking there would have to be a 3rd or 4th coming with Lebanc.

Still interested?

Everything I've seen about him suggests that he projects to be a defensive 3rd line center with good character and leadership abilities, but lacks the offensive upside to ever be a 20+ goal player consistently. I'd rather use the first to draft a potential top 6 forward. IMO we already have a Leblanc type player in Gaunce, but Gaunce still has more upside offensively because of his age if his offensive game translates.

No thanks. Leblanc had 10 goals and 8 assists for 18 points in 62 games in the AHL this year. I'd rather keep that first and draft a player with more offensive upside. It's much easier to sign solid bottom 6 players through FA in the future than it is to sign top 6 forwards. Supply and demand.

I'm warming up to Laurent Dauphin. Every time I see him he stands out and the puck seems to follow him.

this is terrible. Tanev isn't going anywhere if Gillis is looking to retool with youth and shed salary, unless he's asking for a huge raise. He's a solid young defenseman, I'd be happy to see him on the Isles but Vancouver isn't going to be moving him, let alone throwing in a 1st round pick.

edm would need to throw in a pick for the first suggestion, second one...seriously? Vancouver's looking to shed cap and you want to give them another bad contract?
