Last season Phaneuf ran over Mike Sauer. Perfectly clean hit, no jump, no elbow, as textbook as it comes. However Sauer had his head down and also had it bounce off the ice, and so hasn't played since because of a concussion.

The ACC showed it on the big screen as part of a highlight package between the teams. People got pissed.

I think in the end they'll be able to move him. Maybe not Detroit but there are teams when you look at the rosters out there that he would be a definite upgrade. Won't get much of a return but the cap space is nice.

Point taken, they didn't need to put it up there. The guy putting the highlight package together could be a naked fat guy living in his mom's basement for all we know. Your right though it shouldn't be up there if the guy really is screwed over for his career, wether it was a clean hit or not. NY will be extra motivated tonight!

Shanahan glorified the hit by using it as a reference for a perfect hit. Why aren't you angry at him?

Nobody is happy with the outcome, but it is a highlight reel hit. Just like all of Steven's hits Lindros.

Again, you are acting as though they are glorifying the injury. They are showing a clean hockey hit, nothing more.
