I think it comes down to how much Bozak is asking for. If it's reasonable, resign him and trade Grabo (as much as I do like him). Otherwise, having an open slot gives Grabovski the chance to move out of third line duties and to play with goal scorers/point producers. |

Bozak is definitely worth the 5.5 whereas Grabs is nowhere near earning it. |

Grabovski and Kessel never play well together though, so it may not be a smart move. I would sign Bozak. |

Sign Bozak for 4 mill/year and buy out Grabovski. Save 1.5 mill cap hit. Easy math. Colborne can do what Grabovski is doing .... which is alot of nothing. |

You have Kadri to sign to, you can't pay Bozak 5.5, Grabo 5.5, that is going to bite the Leafs in the ass. |

Exactly. If he's asking north of 4.5Million per season... then I would think its best to allow to test free agency... however there's no CAP reason that says the team can have both Bozak and Grabovski. |

Who is going to replace Grabo..how much and what is he going to do that Grabo can't do?
It's only 40 games into a season that was postponed for 3 or 4 mths.
He's in a little funk and is also being used on a shutdown line with Stone Hands Komarov and another checking centre McClement.
I think Carlyle is doing a great job coaching...he doesn't care what they make..he puts them where he needs them..always has 2 centres out there for most draws..hence Bozak is getting lots of ice...
I say if we can't upgrade at the center position then keep things how they are and spend the money we can on a great defenseman ( if any come available ) |

If Bozak is willing to do 3 X $3 million, OK, go for it.
Kadri becomes #1 next year, and Bozak holds the #2 spot warm until Colborne is ready to seize it.
And deal Grabbo for a stay at home d-man (unless O'Byrne pans out). |

How about we see what transpires in the playoffs......see if Bozak can play like he did last night for the rest of the season, see what Grabo does in the playoffs....and then make a decision then. No need to give an extension now, I'm sure Bozak's asking price won't change from now until then. Plus, there's always the possibility that the buyouts may lead to other centres hitting the market.

I like them both so much. I can't be bothered to have to pick one over the other, I just wanna see what Grabo does in the play*ffs.
He's always been clutch. |

It still remains unseen if Colborne can make the jump to a second line center in my opinion. |

So a guy who can't even pass the 50 pt mark, is worth 5.5, yet grabo has shown more in his past years than bozak, but is overpaid surely.
Heck i even think 4M is alot for bozak |

You can't really call someone clutch, who hasn't had playoff experience. |
