I hear you, personally, they could move him for nothing and collect the cap space. Someone will take the guy he is a good offensive guy he just hasn't produced as much this year. There are worse contracts that have been traded, and Mike's point about a lack of free agent centres is valid.

i wouldnt call it a meltdown in ottawa.. they have been playing unbelievably considering they are missing their top centre, their top d-man, and their top goalie

It's not so much a meltdown as it is reality finally beginning to reassert itself.

That being said, they are falling in the standings and only sit 2 points up on 9th. This from being comfortably in 5th a couple weeks ago.

The outcome is unfortunate. Of course it is. But to condemn the video guy at the ACC for playing a clean hit is laughable. I'd hope if this is an issue of being a true "hockey fan" that you at least write to espn, tsn and Don Cherry telling them that they are terrible for playing hits that cause injury.

Man Ranger fans on here are a soft bunch. The few of us that went in there Monday were polite as hell and they were screaming bloody murder.

Now they are sobbing about Dion hitting Sauer. Jeez Louise.

It might make sense, he would probly play well in a caps system as well if they had room for him. Under Wilson he thrived so certain styles work well for him.

Last season Phaneuf ran over Mike Sauer. Perfectly clean hit, no jump, no elbow, as textbook as it comes. However Sauer had his head down and also had it bounce off the ice, and so hasn't played since because of a concussion.

The ACC showed it on the big screen as part of a highlight package between the teams. People got pissed.
