nah, when you find a girl worth keeping and who has class you toss any whores to the curb if you are the type of guy to frequent them in the first place

whores are like beer bottles.. once they've been used up you need to get them out of there or they just sit around stinking up the house

The Grabovski deal is the perfect example of why re-building teams should not lock up up non blue-chip players/prospects to long term rich deals.

It was evident 2-3 yrs ago that Grabovski can't play with Kessel, so that limits his value as you can really only plug him in to one C role in the line up, and that's 2nd line. I'd argue that a competitive Leafs team has Phil Kessel on the second line in order to be most effective and provide the team with dynamic scoring options amongst the fwd corps. Also, Grabovski's numbers that led to this deal were inflated based on the role/minutes he played on a poor team(s).

This is Burke's biggest blunder as GM, not the Kessel trade, Komisarek or Connoly signings. All that should be taken with a grain of salt though considering he acquired Lupul, Phaneuf, Gardiner, Fraser, etc for relatively little.

$5.5 with term though? Albatross, and it makes Grabovski (unfairly) a buy-out candidate this summer IMO. He's a good player - but the value is diminished based on the contract and the limited options on the roster he can fulfill.

2013-14 Forwards (ideally):

Lupul-Kadri-??? (power forward with "big body")
JVR-Bozak-Kessel
Kulemin-Colborne-Fratin
Komarov-McClement-??? (someone defensively responsible and handles the "middleweight" duties)

The problem with not signing Grabovski is you have to look at what our center situation would have been without him. (Don't include Kadri because we didnt know hed break out)

Won't happen. He's having an off year and I personally believe he can bounce back. I think a test on the wing is needed.

Would it have really mattered if they didn't make the playoffs this year? I don't have an issue with re-signing him, it's the 5 year term attached that is the issue. If that's what he demanded then I would have flipped him for one of those mythical 1st round picks Burke blustered about after the trade deadline.

He's not a horrible player, but not sure he'll ever justify that contract...
