Grabo got benched instantly after that blind backhand pass he made that led to the first Nash goal.... It sucked that grabo wasn't given much of a chance but I am kinda glad after all the years of no accountability, that the leafs have a coach who enforces it as much as he can. Going forward though, trading grabo may be a bad idea because it's hard enough to obtain a center now, why trade one away? (other than cap issues) |

If Bozak is willing to do 3 X $3 million, OK, go for it.
Kadri becomes #1 next year, and Bozak holds the #2 spot warm until Colborne is ready to seize it.
And deal Grabbo for a stay at home d-man (unless O'Byrne pans out). - Atomic Wedgie
Two centres to re-sign and you have to see what they are going to do with Grabovski, I don't think he is a favourite of Carlyle, this will be interesting but first, a playoff berth. |

It still remains unseen if Colborne can make the jump to a second line center in my opinion. - RickJames77
You're just bitter because we got him from you, and all you got in return was a traffic jam tying up downtown traffic.
Stupid parade. |

Colborne in limited minutes looks fine to me too. I'm not poopting bricks when he's on the ice, if anything I'm still trying to see if he has hockey sense to go with that size. |

He would be a good 3rd line centerman, just my opinion - Mapleleafs_91
I just mean that I would like to see him consistently play solid games night in night out before I slot him in as my second line center three years down the road, can't bank on something that isn't a sure thing |

Bozak is definitely worth the 5.5 whereas Grabs is nowhere near earning it. - tmlfan69

So a guy who can't even pass the 50 pt mark, is worth 5.5, yet grabo has shown more in his past years than bozak, but is overpaid surely.
Heck i even think 4M is alot for bozak - Mapleleafs_91
You show me a GM who thinks Bozak is worth first line money, and I'll show you a GM who isn't smart enough to assemble a winning team.
I think even Bozak sees this. |

No, I mean I think he was a good prospect in our system, but I just wasn't convinced he could make the jump. That's all I want to see |

The problem with grabo is that he should of been signed to a deal that was nowhere near 5.5, maybe like 4M or 4.5 but 5.5 is too high. He should of been dealt for a draft pick, which easily could of been a first rounder at that time, if he was asking for that type of money, easily could of been avoided |

I know what he meant, just pointing that out. He consistently shows up for big games I'll give him that it's just playoffs can be a different animal |

We had no #1 centre, and Grabbo was the #2.
If the Leafs didn't re-sign him, they were truly franked.
It's too much money, but it had to be done. |

Nobody can get away from the wrath of Carlyle, you (frank) up your going to be riding the pine. Doesn't matter if your names Kessel or Grabo well unless your name is Phaneuf, but RC doesn't have much choice on the backend. |

Who cares if he makes a million too much..if we can fit everybody we need under the cap then salaries become irrelevant.

Still looks a little slow, but he won't shy away from physical play - he even drops em the odd time - well at least in the AHL. |
