Anyhoo, with the game already in the books, Iafrate skates the puck out and explodes at the blueline. Dale Hunter picks up the puck and walks in alone and apologetically pots a goal. I don't think he raised his hands.

So Jake Gardiner is quoted in the Toronto Star today saying about his lack of playing time, "I'm not sure what is going on". Carlyle's response was described by the writer, Kevin McGrann, as "unapologetic", that he essentially would not put him in a position he would be "unable to survive".

I have to say I appreciate Carlyle's approach here, even though Gardiner and his agent clearly do not.
