I think today will be a crazy trade day, has that feeling to it...I'm gonna guess 61 trades, every other team will also swap 2nd round picks with 3rd/4th liners..

Unless something unpredictable is offered, which is possible, Oilers will likely stand pat. Perhaps, add a depth forward. #tradecentre

The team is right where they wanted to be. Regardless of how they got here, this is kinda what Stevo as you call him laid out.
- Lahey

The team is is on the brink of a playoff spot. They have shown they can make a real run at securing one. Plans change and if this team has a chance to get playoff experience now, why not shave off some excess weight and give it a try. No use going through another draft of potential prospects that will mature in 4 years if the team is ready now. They might not make it past the first round but that is significant for this young club.

Tamb just says we are rebuilding so he can lose and everyone will say "that was the plan." It's always the plan.

McBain and Streit wouldn't happen for those prices...

What would Ya'll think of a Whitney, Hemsky, 2014 1st, 2013 2nd FOR Zach Bogosian and WPG 2013 3rd?

Thats my proposal of the Year.

And if there is a move to make he'll make it. No point in making a knee jerk reaction at this point.

IF there is something out there that doesn't cost our 1st fine make the deal, but rentals should only be an option if it's a 2nd+ b level prospects.

Seems like a lifetime ago. Maybe they've moved on, but I understand them not wanting to risk the team chemistry

Chemistry is one thing, but if Chimera wants to be here it's really a no brainer. Who knows we could find out tonight that Ryan Jones has the flu, and bam goes your chemistry.

Smaller moves really should've effect chemistry that much, especially considering we've been rolling so many players this year in and out.

I don't want a rental and if he is not going to sign after anyone then great but at least sign Fistric. Kick the tires and see what Lou costs. Shop some of our extras. I haven't heard from anyone that he is doing this. We have 48 contracts, someone has to want something from us. We also have too many rookies to make the team. There has to be demand there. I just find it hard with some of the junk people are unloading, that we can't shave a few.

I don't give a rat's ass about Lou...it's not a good use of our resources imo.

Goaltender is about 10th on the priority list, and Luongo is about 10th on the goaltender list, so I'd put him next to hiring Mike Rice in terms of things the Oilers ought to do today.

I wouldn't sign fistric right now and how do you know tires aren't being kicked?

From day one ST has ran a tight lipped management, it's not like when Lowe was in charge and we knew when he took a poop.

I'm sure we made the call, just like Garrioch said we are in on Bishop. I'm sure we also looked at Bernier too.

Oilers are not giving up picks for rentals,or trading roster players for picks,if any trade hapens from the Oilers it will be roster player for a roster player, but I think is going to be quiet and not big trades will hapen with the Oilers.

I wouldn't be opposed to give picks for a rental. If a Streit is available who Kreuger has a relationship with I'd do it as I would for some others.

The real problem is I don't know what is left for rentals at this point.

This would make the Oilers on the back end as follows:

D1: Streit - Justin Schultz
D2: Smid - Petry
D3: Nick Schultz - McBain

G1: Dubnyk
G2: Bishop

The Oilers really need to hire me to become the GM, because this team would be amazing. Add Oscar Klefbom to the mix next Fall, and WOW!

- Maxbone

Trades for the sake of making trades.

Or you could just overpay and get Yandle?

Try it first in NHL 13. haha

Did you see the asking price? Two impact forwards, one that can be a #1 center.

NHL 13 is (frank)ing bullpoop. I couldn't make a trade for the life of me, but I did (frank) the Rangers with an offer sheet for Del Zotto, then got my picks back and picked up another RFA of theirs in Mike Sauer that was ranked 84 for a 2nd.

Elliotte Friedman ‏@FriedgeHNIC 7m Yandle price is steep. Two impact forwards, including someone who can be No.1 centre. Not getting traded unless offer PHO can't refuse.

no can do for edm
