Kreider with some really nice things to say about Kris Newbury. Newbury seems like a good guy to have in the organization, even if he never really does much at the NHL level. - Pete V

Not making a comparison here, but I wonder how many Rangers fans were eager to trade Brian Leetch in those early years? He was a big chip in the ill fated Lindros 92 trade, right? - B2B76
None. In his 1st year Leetch had 23 goals and 48 helpers, and 72 helpers in his 3rd year. If we had a dman like that we'd be jumping up and down!! |

I have actually seen people tweet that Torts plays too many head games with players, doesn't help their confidence blah blah blah, and seen them suggest replacing him with Keenan.
And then I wonder where I can get some of the stuff they are smoking. - jimbro83
Those were kids who were too young to have seen Keenan in action. Remember when he played yo yo with Richter & Healy in a game at the Moz in 93-94? After every goal he changed goalies, I mean like 3 or 4 times in that game.

Maybe it's his face? You don't need to 'get' it so don't worry.
People have different opinions about people all the time... some people just don't see what other peeps see. But oh well.
I will give him props for getting that goal outta mid air! Nice. More of that and he can stay... well, actually more of not losing the puck in our zone kinda thing first. Haha. |

True, but Espo was the GM then & it wouldn't have been crazy for fans to think he would deal Leetch. |

I was just watching the Rangers stanley cup story on the NHL network, and Richter was talking about the Messier game 6 guarantee game when they went down 2-0. Richter said he didn't even want to look at the bench after the second goal because he was afraid Keenan was going to take him out. And then he played probably best game I have ever seen. |

That was a DEAD team at that moment, Beuke was suspended for that game, the Devils could have been up 5 or 6-0 with the way they were playing before the Kovalev goal changed everything. |

On Mcilrath.. Not sure if it was mentioned, but he was injured for the first half of the season or so, then suspended for another 3 games (lol). Wont see him this year, and im not so sure he makes the team out of camp next year. Im sure he'll get a look though. |

Like Jimbo was saying, we all knew he would be a project, despite his 1st round drafting. Next yr he should get a fair shot at cracking the roster, bye bye Eminger. |

I was at Game 3 and 4 against the Capitals that year. Game 4 we managed to buy 1st row seats behind the goal the day of the game, and our mugs ended up in Sports Illustrated when they included a shot of Brian Leetch behind the net.
