Yea I'm pretty positive too. I'm gonna shift blame somewhere else. I don't wanna sound cold hearted because he's in the hospital right now but, Sather really dropped the ball putting this roster together. The nash trade aside because EVERYONE agrees and still does for the most part loved the deal. The secondary moves, ie- losing feds, prust, mitchell really really have burned them. Halpren, pyatt, asham, powe just aren't cutting it. Couple that with bad years by Richards gaborik and to a certain extent girardi and mcdonagh and here we are. They lost a ton a "jam" and leadership that has not been replaced

But the team needs find a way to succeed somehow and im not sure what to do to be honest

- Slimtj100

Unfortunately we can't trade Richards, we have to buy his ass out this summer or we're stuck with 5.6M in cap hit for 3 years while he plays and retires on another team.

So all thats left to trade is Gaborik in terms of being a "seller." Who else would you trade away?? No one.

I think Pete is right on one point. Trade for a poop stirrer, now. Hell, CBJ wanna keep 50% of Dubi's contract I'll trade em a pick to have a $2.5M Dubi on this team. Maybe he helps the locker room to be more like last year. I am at a loss guys but SOMETHING needsto change between now and Sunday.

EDIT: Reason why Dubi came to mind is we need a guy who is DYING to play here. And plays like it. I dont care if he gets another god damn point all year, at least he'd come out flying and maybe it woudl rub off on everyone else.

all, blog will be up later, have read all 600+ comments. Will try and include some, but unfortunately, myself included, are regurgitating what we have said for a while. Carp's comment is something we all have spoken about which is the lack of an edge or killer instinct on this team as well as playing down to the opponents.

You all want Gabby to shoot and you're still not happy. This teams woes are directly on the shoulders of the coaching staff. No one else.
- DONMURDOCH14

Yes gabby has been disappointing but there arent too many
Players who could score that goal.

I would definitely take Dubi back on a 2.5 per year deal. He had problems scoring but always hustled and hit. I don't know if Columbus would eat 2 mil of his salary but if they would I think bringing him back would be a good idea.

Empty net both ways... I dont think this team has a single empty net goal this season.
- aecliptic

Gabbys hat trick goal was an empty netter I think..
On another note, I don't think Richards has won a face off
This year. Even when the other center gets yanked, he loses to
A winger. Hell, he'd prob lose to a goalie.

In order for me to eat $5.6M for 3 years in dead money for 1 player. They have to be great. And Richards is far from it.

And I dont care what the "change" is but we need a trade for someone that can provide a spark. BEFORE SUNDAY

$24 million is alot to pay a guy not to play for you, even for the Garden. They have until next summer to buy him out, so I am sure they will assess things this year and next to see what direction to go in. And, then the buy-out number will drop to $18 million.

Changes have to be made in the off season anyways. So they might as well try to spark the team and start to set themselves up for next season. Next season is a big year for so many different people and reasons. They have rebuilt. It's time to deliver.

If thats the plan, I'm fine with it. But to me using an amnesty is a win-win. Open up space to sign, ya know, EVERYONE next year. And save that $5.6M in dead money that we KNOW is coming in the future for a player that isn't worth it.

I'm ok with sacrificing things a bit this year if it means being better next year and beyond.

IMO any trade made now is a knee jerk reaction and self defeating to the team. I would start with firing the coach and bring in a new voice. One that actually knows how to teach offensive techniques. I know this opinion is strongly criticized on here but there are too many good players on this team to be as bad as they are.

I often wonder if this team overachieved last year and maybe it's underachieving this year and the truth is they lie somewhere in the middle.

I see a Richards buyout now more clearly and think its probably the smart move. I wasn't on board with it at first.

Don, I actually think an equal amount or even slight majority may share that opinion. But, you keep saying it over and over again, in every scenario. What's 2 + 2? Answer: Fire Torts. We know where you stand on this one., my friend.

It's hard to blame offensive technique when you get 45 shots. I think it's just a matter of the players not finishing. They are getting plenty if chances seemingly every game

I'll say one thing, if this team had a average power play they get a point last night. The power play is awful. And I know who the problem is, but me venting on here isn't gonna change a damn thing.

haven't I been saying that for awhile now. right now the rangers are the poster child of a 500 team, win a few games, then lose a game you have no business losing. hopefully the rangers sent a thank you note to peter deboer for leaving brodeur on the bench Tuesday night?
