Next year, spare him the indignity of playing with such an underachieving squad.

No one is immune anymore. Girardi even looks spent. Hank wasn't himself either tonight.
- Slimtj100

HANK??? Henrik was the only reason why we were still in this game (somehow, despite his team's minimal effort). Tortie changed his strategy after what he said was "not a good or bad start"; by having his crew take shots from anywhere; without creating any traffic in front of Markstrom. Keenan and Maloney disageed with him on the Rangers start (of only 1 HIT and 1 SHOT ON GOAL in the first 8 minutes); followed then by taking the first penalty leading to Campbell's close-in power play goal slapper; which may have even deflected off a stick, causing its sudden & higher rise to it. On the Panthers second goal, there were about 5 players within one foot or so of Hank (including 3 Rangers collapsing down low as per Tortie's "system"; 2 of which were even standing in the goal crease). How could he have even seen that puck? Check the replay of his reaction to it. Hank even said after the game that he did not pick up the puck on both goals; and I can side with him on that in being a goalie since the mid 1970's.

I am absolutely convinced all of these big tickets they bring in here simply can't handle the pressure of playing in NY.

Too much evidence to convince me otherwise.

- MidnightMarauder

WHAT PRESSURE??? There is only pressure from us devoted Rangers fans. I know that you must be aware of the 5% general press coverage of all types that hockey gets in N.Y. every hockey season (1% each for the regular season, and in each of the 4 playoff rounds). I'm excluding our MSG, and the national NBC and NHL SPORTS NETWORKS coverage; that only us hockey fans know exists & follow.

New York isn't Montreal, Toronto, or even Buffalo for that matter; where besides the Sabres, they only have the poor NFL Bills to root for each year. That's why the Sabres get more general sports media coverage than what the Rangers get here through the N.Y. tabloids, tv, and radio media. The Rangers are not in the NFL, MLB, or the NBA. The basic sports fans and media do not even understand hockey. Just ask that Francessa guy on the radio. At least he admits it.
The pressure to play hockey in New York for the Rangers is only a MYTH.

Disgusting effort, your playing the Panthers, that was a must win game. Where's the urgency?

I think Nash should get a game for that elbow on Kopecky

I wanna give Gaborik credit last night for playing well, but, the powerplay at the end, you know you have no goalie, why take that shot directly into the penalty killers shin pads, when you know they have a free shot at the open net?

ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh, so aggravating

good time as any to head out on vacation, maybe I am the problem!

see y'all on the flip side, I may post a bit today, my flight is this evening.

Read Carps review. He is spot on when he said this team allows teams to dictate tone. In other words, last season when they did start like they did last night someone would start a fight, make a hit, make a play, something!!! Maybe Asham coming back will provide that who the hell knows.

I'm a bit conflicted in my thoughts now after last night. One thing is clear, and that is that this team needs a change. Whether it's shaking up the roster or changing coaches is where I'm torn. On one hand, I think this roster has enough talent to succeed. They may not be as tough as we'd like, but they could still be a very good team under the right direction. So in that sense, I'm leaning towards a coaching change. On the other hand, I think Torts has done enough for this team the past few seasons to earn a freebie and finish out the year. He's proven he can be a successful coach, so let's give him a chance to right the ship. If that's the case, then maybe we need a roster shakeup.

I think Torts is as dumbfounded as anybody. He knows what it takes to win a Stanley Cup, he is a coach that understands you win in this league with your balls as much as you do with your skill...they won as much as they did last year bc those guys had stones...i hate to say this b/c I don't want him getting hurt, but the captain needs to go out and start a fight...he needs to do what Messier did, I love Cally and he always knows what to do and right now he needs these guys to really follow his lead...the problem with shaking up the roster is that it creates more turnover but at this point what differencve does it make. Even if they make the playoffs, are you confident if they play Boston or Pittsburgh? Don't score enough to beat the Pens and would physically be overmatched over 7 against the B's....and we have no first rounder so we can't even play sit and hope to win the lottery card...this has been a disaster. I'm normally pretty positive....so you know things are awful...

I think we all need to get together and get wasted and watch Game 6 and 7 and Game 7 again. I don't even have to tell you what year and we should react like its the first time we've ever seen it...

Yea I'm pretty positive too. I'm gonna shift blame somewhere else. I don't wanna sound cold hearted because he's in the hospital right now but, Sather really dropped the ball putting this roster together. The nash trade aside because EVERYONE agrees and still does for the most part loved the deal. The secondary moves, ie- losing feds, prust, mitchell really really have burned them. Halpren, pyatt, asham, powe just aren't cutting it. Couple that with bad years by Richards gaborik and to a certain extent girardi and mcdonagh and here we are. They lost a ton a "jam" and leadership that has not been replaced

But the team needs find a way to succeed somehow and im not sure what to do to be honest

Holtby is coming off of a shutout against a hot team....things are bleak my friends, then again, that usually means this team will pot four goals...b/c they are a .500 team, this is what .500 teams do...

Somebody tweeted lastnight that Holtby has something like a .860 save% after a shutout, he'll figure it out Sunday.
