Another maddening loss, terrible. Yes this team had 45 shots tonight but why must the majority of them be directly at Markstrom's chest. Last I checked, unless the Rangers think they have this special puck I don't know about, you can't shoot the puck through the goalie's body!! Pick a corner for God's sake!

I understand why he wants to keep Nash on the right. He is probably better there. And maybe this team isn't properly constructed, but I think playing Gaborik on the left wing just won't work. He doesn't have the type of shot angle to play left wing. It seems like everytime he shoots from over there, he shoots into the goalies crest. He is a player that needs to play the off-wing. I think that is the primary reason that he is struggling.

But, too much offensive talent for this team to be this bad offensively.

We really shouldn't be blaming just the one player, 6 goals in their last 6 games...oye.

They have 6 non-shootout goals in the last 5 games. And that is counting the offensive explosion in Jersey. Man that is bad!

They are top heavy, on paper, and those on paper top heavy players aren't all pulling their weight.

Yea they had 44 shots tonight, but to many easy saves. Not enough traffic in front. Unless they get dirty, don't know how they start scoring

Here's my reasoning for not giving up on Gaborik. He only has one more year left after this year. He has underperformed this season, but I don't think he's washed up. Two 40 goal seasons in the past three seasons should not be so easily overlooked. Worst case scenario is he sucks this year and next and then is gone. I'm worried about Richards. He is the prime candidate for the last amnesty buyout. I also don't think D. Boyle will work out for us if we were to acquire him. Our D corps isn't bad. Missing Staal hurts, but for the most part I like the guys we have. And don't try to tell me Boyle would fix our PP woes. I can't see one guy coming in and changing our PP so drastically that it will suddenly work. I've been a supporter of Torts since he came here, but I'm starting to sour on him. I don't like the system anymore, especially with the group of players we have. The PP doesn't work, the grinding/forechecking isn't producing goals like it did last year, and I've never really liked our collapsing defensive system (it works, but teams are finding ways to get around it). Anyway, those are some of the thoughts swirling around in my head. I'm still not giving up hope on this team. They're still right there in the playoff hunt. Anything can happen. But I still liked it better last year when we were fighting for the President's Trophy.

It isn't on one player, Gaborik just gets a lot of venom because we all know he is a better scorer than this.

Neil ended Brian Boyle's effectiveness as an NHL player and Richards needs to date another hot young starlet.

But even with traffic I don't think they score many more on him. The guy is 6"6'. As long as he has decent positioning, most shots will hit him even if he doesn't see them. A big goalie like that is one you need to get moving side to side to beat. That's my opinion.

Last year if the Rangers were down a goal or 2 going into the 3rd I would be be saying ok they can do this. This year it's like if they're not winning going into the 3rd for sure they're done. What annoys me even more is I don't think I've seen a team worse than the Rangers with the goalie pulled. I see all these games on the center ice hockey package of teams pulling the goalie and keeping the puck in for a full minute. The Rangers are lucky if they win the face off before the other team shoots it into the empty net, so frustrating.

A ton of easy saves tonight. He might be an inexperienced NHL goaltender but he is still an NHL goaltender, nonetheless. This team makes it easy for a lot of defenses and goaltenders.

You guys remember when the Rangers lost to the expansion Ducks? Was that 92-93 or the cup year? Thats what tonight reminded of...if it was the cup year I am not trying to draw any parallel.

I don't know why any of you guys are wasting your time trying to figure his one out and what's going to be the difference, they simply don't deserve fans, there is no answer, it is just flat out failure to succeed, it certainly isn't for lack of talent or high priced players that one thing that's 100% clear.

Don't forget how the Thrashers would come in here year after year and put the final nail in the coffin, ending Richter's career on a sad note.

That was the cup year, Terry Yake with the hat trick.

That loss might have been comparable but the two Rangers teams are night and day.
