In the end the 2013 New York Rangers will go down as one of the biggest blunders, failures, flops in sports history, just another feather in the cap of every fan base in this league that gets spared this yearly fuking embarrassment, I HATE BEING CURSED WITH BEING A RANGERS FAN |

So, what to do? Can't fire the players. I don't see any trade helping. Next is to fire Torts. he's spent - DONMURDOCH14
I think torts is as exasperated as we are. |

Really? This team should be up there with Pitt and Boston. 500 is what they should not be. - DONMURDOCH14
Here's the thing though, Boston and Pittsburgh are actually getting production from their top line scorers; Boston is also a lot more deep at forward than the Rangers.
Rangers are only getting one player that is producing with regularity. |

There is no room on the right side anymore, with Nash and Callahan occupying that side.
Just trade him now before his stock hits rock bottom. - MidnightMarauder
But your calling a guy that is a two time 40 goal scorer every name in the book because he isn't getting it done playing out of position. Is there any doubt in your mind that he would be better if where playing the position he has played his entire career? |

This season will go down as the worst, post 2004, with the combination of inflated expectations and the likely failing end result. |

Teach offense? These are pro hockey players...Richards is a Conn Smythe winner and Gabby at least was a prolific goal scorer, you can have Jack Adams himself in here...I doubt anything gets done. I'm not saying Torts doesn't deserve his fair share of the blame. If this were a baseball team we would want the hitting coach fired...we have been through this before, if they let him go I will certainly understand it, if they keep him I will certainly understand it but they have to make a decision about what to do here...its quickly becoming a wash of a season...like i said 92-93. Maybe Staal getting hit in the face is this years equivalent of Leetch injuring himself stepping out of a cab...
Trautwig just said, 8 shots by Gabby, 1 goal, at least he scored, where was everyone else?? - Blueshirts4ever
There are breakouts and offensive strategies that need to be taught. like when you pull the goalie, breakouts, crashing the net. They just skate up and down the wings with no creativity. Why? because Torts system teaches defense first. It does not suit this team as it is currently made up.

Put Gaborik on the right and Nash on the left. Gaborik can't play on the left side. |

Bingo...paid professional athletes, get the job done...coaches get way too much credit and way too much blame when they lose...i have nothing else to say. I am not a baseball fan so I will have nothing until the NFL starts again, I need my break b/c my pro sports teams suck! - Blueshirts4ever
That is the nature of the beast. Coaches more often than not get treated unfairly, but you can't get rid of a team full of players. When a team is underachieving, often the coach gets the ax as a way to shake things up. |

Gaborik if nothing else at least may be getting confidence back. I just don't know what to say positive bout tonight so I said that |

He started the season flying and then went into a six week slump. Remember he had five goals in the first five games, playing with Nash and Richards.
Why the prolonged slump shortly thereafter that strong start? He is just a terribly inconsistent player. |

Nash has played plenty of left wing in his career. |

Wow! You have balls backing me around here. My opinion isn't very popular. But Thanks. |

Nash, look at his stat line. Rangers are the fourth worst scoring team in the league and he is averaging nearly a point per game.
That's pretty steady to me. |

Is Tortorella that stubborn that he won't consider switching the first line wingers? |

Im not saying they should keep torts, but he doesnt play the games. Im sick of the piss poor, half assed effort.
The entire bottom six minus miller is useless. Bring back Haley, trade boyle, trade gaborik, smash richards with a frying pan till he wakes the (frank) up.
Jesus christ i cant believe we're at this point. |

Its hard to do that when they can't even execute simpler passes than that and they don't practice bc of the compressed schedule. Believe it or not,i think they do have those things in place, they don't execute it. Honestly, it comes down to balls, winning battles, how many times do we see guys not win individual battles. How many 50/50 pucks do they win? I see a team that once they get in the O-zone its one and done b/c they don't win enough loose pucks...thats the difference I see from last season...even if a new coach comes in, you need practice time to implement anything new...easier said than done |

I understand why he wants to keep Nash on the right. He is probably better there. And maybe this team isn't properly constructed, but I think playing Gaborik on the left wing just won't work. He doesn't have the type of shot angle to play left wing. It seems like everytime he shoots from over there, he shoots into the goalies crest. He is a player that needs to play the off-wing. I think that is the primary reason that he is struggling.
But, too much offensive talent for this team to be this bad offensively. |

It's only going to get worse, they play Ottawa, Montreal and Winnipeg next week. Have a whopping one point in six games played against those teams. |
