Can't help but notice Orpik has been skating a lot better these last few games. He's participating a lot more and quited that "stay only" style.

Pittsburgh’s second-period power-play goal is the team’s league-leading 28th power-play marker. The Penguins remain fourth in the league in power-play percentage (24.5%).

The Penguins are 6-2 when tied after two periods.


Player Notes:

Paul Martin got the Penguins on the board with his sixth goal of the season. The power-play marker is Martin’s 16th point in 21 games (5G-11A) and he is now T-5th in defensive scoring with 19 points (6G-13A).

Sidney Crosby picked up an assist on Martin’s goal. The assist is his league-leading 36th and he has an NHL-best 49 points on the season.

Beau Bennett recorded his sixth assist of the season on Martin’s goal. Bennett now has eight points in his last 12 games (2G-6A).

Martin also leads all Penguins players with 18:18 minutes played through two periods. In the three previous games Kris Letang has not dressed, Martin has led all Penguins in time-on-ice averaging 28:36 minutes per game.

I know that should have been a penalty but regardless, I really like the way this Olesky kid plays. And I saw him beat the snot out of someone the other night.
