That it was. but hes a perfect 4th line center
- SayWhat...NoWay

Are we trying to create another center controversion?

This just in: Teemu Selanne is awesome.

He was asked about Getzlaf and Perry getting 8 year contracts and said "If they can play 8 more years, I certainly can. I'm in better shape than them anyway"

I love that guy. Teemu Forever!

- HopintheCordoba

He'd be good here. He certainly can extend his carreer a bit more. He's pretty old but very well fit and playing at a top 6 level in the NHL. That's hard.

Let's not and say we did

Vitale is the prototypical 4th line center. Jeffrey is really the only guy that should play center or winger depending on the situation. Maybe Dupuis could if it was an absolute emergency.

One of the biggest differences I've notice in our game is the players, instead of running north/south with the puck, as we usually did, are entering the zone and turning their back to the defenseman, looking for a pass. That has made a lot of difference in the puck moving and possession. Love it how we find open players by making little adjustments. Anyone noticed that?
- Orpik44

Biggest adjustment has been the forwards getting deeper in the d zone and not leaving the center and 2 d men to deal with the puck below the dots in a 4 on 3 situation. Players like Neal (who is a one way player) are actually coming back into the zone deep enough just to get in the way.

The button hook at the half wall works brilliantly due to #58 being able to take a crisp pass at speed on the other side of the ice and open the zone up.

If you watch Martin takes that pass too but he pulls up and stays within his skill set, Despres has the confidence in his ability to take the puck and go deep in the zone, but he releases the puck earlier than Tanger (for obvious reasons) but it is nice to see him with the confidence to do it.

Before he was hurt, Nisk would do the same thing, now that he is not skating as well, he backs off.

Yes sir. He's another one of those guys that is usually in the trade conversation. Of course the Ducks are doing well and he's a part of it. Nowhere near the conversation as Iginla, Hedjuk or even Alfredsson.

Selanne is one of those guys who take his job very seriously. I was going over his numbers as a player and one thing I remember well is when he got traded to the Avalanche (Kariya was already there as well). His numbers were not very good. Anyone knows/remember the reasons for that?

Yes, I do. He had a knee injury.

Pretty funny story in there about it.

Nice story. I knew something was wrong with him. Most players probably would take a sit and rehab. Not him though.

Man, those two were good together

They were so good together they didnt even need a great center. I believe Rucchin was the center and he was ok.

Hate to say it, but without Malkin and Letang now, Sid is going to have to keep this team on his shoulders just a bit longer. It's amazing how he propelled Kunitz and Dupuis to another level and pushed the team to this winning streak

In a weird way I think some of the Flame fans that are selling Iginla to the Penguins hard just wanti to see a family member (Iginla) land on his feet and in a good situation. Pittsburgh fits the bill in that regard.

This causes the perception of Penguins' need vs want to be clouded from an outsider perspective.

- Gunner Staal

maybe I'm missing something, but I've seen very few Cal fans that are actually selling Iginla... it seems mostly we pitt fans and the hockey media are trying to sell him to us more.

Any level headed Calgary fan wants a rebuild and understands that moving Iginla is a part of that.

With selanne most likely retiring after this season, and them losing Koivu, Iginla would be a great fit with the ducks
