Well, I guess a change of scenery didn't help all that much:
Mike Colligan @MikeColligan 1h
Friend who covers the Jets said Tangradi "has looked like a guy acquired for a 7th rd pk. Lays the odd hit, otherwise not noticeable at all"
He is what he is... - rival22
Thank God we got Kunitz in that deal with Anaheim then. Pretty amazing that Kunitz and Dupuis were considered the pieces of their respective deals that everyone thought would fade away.
Instead, we have two undrafted stars while Hossa bolted for 'His best chance to win a cup" twice and Tangradi is well...Tangradi. |

I really thought Kunitz was the main piece on the deal and Tangradi was "a part of it" although a good one (former 1st rounder). Looks good to me. Ryan Whitney is sulking in EDM. |

Amazing how Glass didn't register a point yet...in 31 games. Even Adams has 5 points already. Vitale with 3. We definitely need an upgrade. |

At the time he certainly was. The fact that he's been so good is wonderful. A lot of people thought Tangradi was going to turn into a power forward monster. He was the future. Too bad for him and the Penguins it didn't happen. As you said, he's probably going to be an AHLer from here on out. |

i agree, cant wait for geno to come back so he has a better center.. not that sutter was doing bad or even jeffrey... i think if tk gets traded in a deal and not jeffrey, jeffrey will slot in on 3rd line wing.. thats if dupes isnt moved for a top 6 winger.. |

That isnt true at all about Kunitz, he was the main asset the Penguins were looking to acquire in that deal.
Dupuis on the other hand, he was certainly not the main piece of that deal. |

And then that one trade where we got Niskanen for Goligoski... I think we got someone else there too. |

I'd like to see Zach Sill get his feet wet for a couple games. Glass would sit. |

Yeah I know, but long term I'm pretty sure people were licking their chops over Tangradi. Kunitz looked like a solid pick up at the time. Definitely a guy to help in their cup run. But he's turned into much more here. Tangradi was pushed like he'd be a star. That was the point. |

I highly doubt TK or Dupuis are going anywhere, but then again I am not Ray Shero. |

That trade looked awful when it was made and it still looks awful from a Dallas perspective.
Then you take into consideration Niewendyk's asset management this past season when he traded away Ribeiro to create a need at center. To fill a need that he created he then traded away Steve Ott to acquire pending UFA Derek Roy. Contract negotiations are not going well and he will most likely be shopped.
In essence the Stars traded away Ribeiro, Ott, Adam Pardy for Derek Roy and a 2nd round pick. Ouch. |

Dupuis, no. No shot. Most of us already have TK's bags packed for him.

I don't recall any expectations with Tangradi. He certainly wasn't pushed as being a star. |
