I've said this a million times but I think blaming Feaster solely for the fact that they're not rebuilding is a big oversimplification. When you make a decision to blow it up that decision usually comes from up high.

In any case the day is quickly approaching where it becomes unavoidable, if Iggy doesn't sign an extension within the next few weeks they HAVE to begin trade discussions (in a perfect world they would be doing so already but who knows what's happening)

Actually in a perfect world this would have happened like 2 years ago but what can you do.

scorched earth policy is the only way out of this mess now, Iggy, Cammy, Kipper etc.. etc...It's what Burke should have done at last year's trade deadline and where is he now? Feaster must be on taking beta-blockers

I think Burke had a lot more power to make those decisions than Feaster does. I dot know whether he actually believes this current team has a ceiling any higher than bubble mediocrity - I choose to give him benefit of the doubt but many don't, and i can see why. But I've long held that a rebuild won't be forced until they're staring at a top 5 lottery pick, based on the actual history of teams blowing it up (and as it happens they actually would be if the lottery was held today)

I love Dion on our team. What's the latest on Stajan out there?

Stajan is pretty much the only natural center on our team right now

Hell, at this rate he might even avoid the buyout in June

When I checked the stats I couldn't believe DP has scored more goals than Stajan since the trade.

Worst thing about that trade was that I can never talk to a Leafs fan again without them bringing it up. I mean it's already one of the worst trades in Flames history which is saying a lot but why did it have to be Toronto. Never again.

well on the plus side, it won't happen a third time I want to see Calgary do well, Edmonton not so much, too chauvinistic for me like the French

I wouldn't say that...we've still got Iggy to trade, you might need a goalie if Scrivens/Reimer fall apart, etc. On the other hand I'm pretty sure most of our big names except Kipper despise Dion so it probably won't happen. I just like to prepare myself for the worst case scenario

in all honesty if I wasn't so opposed to the idea of trading with Toronto again, Grabovski wouldn't be the worst player to pick up...obviously not in a deal like that though

wait I just looked at his contract...hmm for that money probably better to try and get O'Reilly...but that might cost a lottery pick. jesus, we're screwed.

Bob Gainey would be the perfect Feaster replacement....

Geno will be just fine...this is no where near as bad a Sid's concussion was. The pens are being cautious beacuse he is one of the best players in the world. Expect to see him return to the ice sooner than later
