As soon as I saw the way Evgeni Malkin's head snapped back on that hit by Florida's Eric Gudbranson last night, I suspected that the next update on his status would be what came today: he's almost definitely out for tomorrow's game against Tampa and there is no way at this point to predict a return date. Tough hit by Gudbranson but not a dirty one.

I've been dealing with a concussion myself over the past week and have had others in the past. It's serious business, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
