It's not the biggest downfall. There's a study out there somewhere that there is very little correlation with record and faceoff percentage. That being said, they still could stand to get better.

I must say.. we can complain all we want on HockeyBuzz about how much we want Ruff to get fired... it doesn't mean anything... Pegula or Darcy don't care...

But when it is starting to get so much friction on major media and twitter.. those are the type of things that get to management.

Please someone tell me my brother is full of poop... He is an Avs fan and said that he saw it tweeted that a Myers+ for O'Rielly+ deal has been agreed to... He thought he saw stafford and a McGinn mentioned....

i mean leino contract aside (he's been hurt), they are trying their best to get out of the mudpit created by golisano not wanting to spend money. we are in growing pains phase. there is a really good chance they'll still be bad next year, but imo you can see the pieces being added very slowly and now the product is growing. i still think we're relying on free agency to push this forward faster (aka signing a big fish) but we'll see.

the problem is fans want teams to win now or at least look like they're on the road to it, and the sabres don't look that way right now but they're slowly getting their. we need patience. i/we have no way of knowing whether ruff will get out of this alive but imo we doesn't have the best setup right now and the team is also playing bad, two strikes against him and the team. i still think they're going to tweak the team some this year, hope for free agency this year and next, and add some youth and i think we might be fine in a year or two.

my biggest worry is ryan miller and goalie especially. granted, if we build the rest of the team well enough, the goalie is maybe a little less important but i still would rather have miller along for the ride.

Slowly growing? At a snails pace I guess. we have gotten worse 4 years in a row now. We went from Division winner, to 7th seed, to 9th place, now to this. We are regressing and have 3 of our best players scheduled to leave after next year.

lol too bad every time the sabres play a goalie who either sucks, is a back up or is playing cold as ice they have a career game vs us. He will limit the sabres to 2 goals or less guranteed.

I don't necessarily need to win now. I'd be willing to blow things up if it meant we would start doing things right. I don't think Ruff and Regier are the right guys for the job and I don't think throwing undeserved gobs of money ever helps
