As usual ,very well thought out.
Do you think Gillis would trade Schneider? If Gillis could not find an acceptable deal I think he would hang on to Lu. As you said he is very stubborn .
If he could not sign Edler for Hamhuis type money he could offer Schneider Edler and Tanev for Coutiereand L Schenn . That would be cap friendly for Flyers. - VANTEL
It would be quite the story but I'm not getting any kind of read on the known players so to suggest that so it would have to be something that developes later I'd think. Nonis and Burke have serious game faces on when asked on the subject of Lu. Gillis and Luongo are now publicly trying to help the situation along... It's all about Luongo at the moment. There would be leaks about Schneider if that was seriously being condsidered and the market would be open to 3x the teams if trading Corey is considered.
That could all change with several scenarios. Here's one.... Lu could outplay Corey, AV could give Lu 2/3 games and Corey, sick of being told for years that the Canucks "will find him a team where he isnt watching from the bench", followed by "we are going to move Lu"... finally wants out...or at the very least the blazing speculation of the situation draws in offers and pushes the issue. One way or another, I would never rule out Gillis moving Schneider. This scenario isnt as far a stretch as most might think.

I cant see it happening. The Canucks are an aging team, We need to keep our youth guys here and move out the older boys sometime. |

MG does love LU. Fact be known ,if he had a solid D core in front of him he could win it all. I think he improved alot last year. He matured and finally realized it is only a game. |

Lu has 6 years left in him and Canucks have Lack and Clime on the horizon. We are not suggesting we want it .We are suggesting Gillis might pull the trigger.
If they did trade Schneider they better be looking at a young top stud. |

Vantel, it surprises me that you have been considering trading Schneider lately. You wanted Corey and AV to push Luongo into asking for a trade. Careful what you wish for.
Schneider > Luongo I 100% agree on this.
It's not as simple as that though. We can build a team who wont get shut out 3 times in the final and at the same time strengthen our prospect pool with a Corey Schneider trade. By keeping Luongo, we will have a GT who will consistantly play good while we get shut out 3 times in the final.
This team can win with the *right players* in front of Luongo. Our bottom 9 just needs a facelift.
Disclaimer:
AV possibly trumps the *right players* one way or the other... |

I would take Corey over Lu for sure. I think the Canucks and Gillis missed the window to trade LU for a good return . Now we would be stuck with an acceptable return ie Bozak Kadri Gunnar. If we could get a top line player for Schneider I would think long and hard.
I am not sure how long Kes or Edler will be here so it is time to get good returns when players can give you the most back on a trade in. |

Cam Barker is the next Ryan Parent for the Canucks.
I'm ok with Vandermeer. He at least is an intimidating player. |

FFS I hope he's not that bad. Parent didn't even belong in the AHL by the end of last season. |

I seen tweets this morning from the media ,that Vandermeer came at the referral of several Canuck players who practiced with him at UBC.
Barker, meh , 700 k to see if an previously injured #3 overall works is not a high risk. |

I'd be desperate for some protection if I were the Canucks forwards. Doesnt surprise me players connected with him quickly with AV's influence a couple thousand miles away...
I think Alberts is going to ride the waiver wire down to Chicago...
