A good benchmark for Subban is John Carlson 3.9M. Subban doesn't have the number to be paid like a superstar.

The habs need two other years to really know what Subban can really bring to this team.

I love how everyone thinks Subban is worth Yakupov or Hall or Couturier+ but no one wants to pay him more than 4-5M. Seriously either he is worth a Couturier potential player (which means you don't offer him 2.75M a year, you give him 5+M) or he is only worth 4M or less and you trade him for something more realistic.

You cannot refuse to "overpay" by giving him 6M and then ask teams for their best player and then some in a trade. It is time to get real people, if he is that valuable then give him an 8 year 48M and be happy you have a "franchise level" talent.

He's got a solid bit of cred relative to the length of his NHL career, but that's definitely not what he was saying. As for Subban, he definitely hasn't proven he's worth Drew Doughty money. Especially in a league where cap dollars are set to become more scarce.

It really depends on how many of his organs you want to harvest and in which country you sell them. Assuming he has the full compliment of 2 kidneys, 2 lungs, and a liver. I don't know if I would go as far as saying that but for a rookie to come into the NHL and be able to shutdown the likes of Malkin, I would be considering him to be a potential key piece to the Flyers organization, especially since Pits and Phi are in the same division.
