(frank) you! Kidding!
Yeah, our teams have a lot in common. - laughs2907
Now that this has turned into a love fest and peace has once again been restored to the Islander thread I can tell you I have a total man crush on Eberle. Not blowing smoke up your ass(don't get your hopes up I know how you operate)but that kid is something else. |

You do? Cloutier's blogs are much more relaxed, and grammar is thrown out the window. If you visit the comment section, you'll be slinging your feces within 10 minutes. - laughs2907
I do visit his blogs quite often and funny enough find myself hurling sh!t at my walls? |

He really is. They really are going to have some team real soon. If Dubnyk plays decent even and they can add a top two they are going to be a force to be reckoned with. Further ahead in the rebuild then we are. RNH, Eberle, Hall, and now Yak. Wow. RNH surprised the crap out of me. I knew he'd be good but I didn't think he'd come out the gates like that. I wouldn't be surprised if they squeaked in this year. |

Yeah. I'm a bit partial to him myself. The kid is incredible. Professional and he's got a determination this team hasn't seen in a very long time. He's got Hall's mentality. Kid always wants to win. Tough to keep that level of professionalism and competitiveness on a team like this that mails it in far too often. |

Definitely agree... To me, it seems like a lot of these younger guys are more mature than the older guys throughout the league. |

At least more mature then the older guys on my team. Not tough to do when you're playing with the likes of Brian Rolston . Oh geez, I just made myself a little naseous. Could we go back to talking about Rosie O'donnels assh0le? |

The guy filed a grevience, clearly he tried to get outta coming to long island. But, like anyone else who comes here, they end up staying. North Shore of long island has some of the greatest homes/towns in the country........and is 30 minutes from manhattan. - kindlyrick
I think the actual reason they stay is for the massive contracts that overpay them due to the quality management that New York attracts. I also really doubt that a hockey player is interested in homes in a particular place, considering they can afford to buy or build whatever type of house they please. If life on Long Island was so attractive maybe the Isles wouldn't be annual disappointments.

Long Island is probably one of the most beautiful places in the country. Unfortunately with that comes it is also one of the most expensive places to live. It also has one of the greatest citys in the world 30 mins to an hour from it depending on where you live. The reason why FA's don't want to come here is because we have a GM who is learning on the fly and a wacked out owner. Add on the fact that we are perpetual losers and have been for some time now. Certainly has nothing to do with Long Island itself. I'm guessing you have never been here? This isn't coming from some home pride sentiment BS just stating a fact. Anyone who thinks LI is not a nice place to live either can't afford it(most people)or have never been here. |

Here's a thought for you:
"Hmm, I want to live in a beautiful city...but it is a bit expensive....but it is a half an hour away from New York City!....but they do have terrible management...hmm"
I highly doubt that the self-conversation above is what goes through a players mind come free agency. I think it goes a little more like this:
Player "The Isles called you?"
Agent "Yes, I laughed and hung up"
Player & Agent both laugh hysterically and field real calls.

And that I was mocking the other person who related a cities beauty to a hockey related decision? |

When you say "if life on Long Island was so attractive maybe they wouldn't be annual disappointments" you are in turn referring to "life" on Long Island itself so yeah I did understand it. I think you may have conveyed your point a little indirectly? I do think there are some players who would play for a team who resided in a beautiful place, especially a nice place for their families if they had one. People do it all the time with their jobs as far as relocation goes. On that same note I couldn't blame any player for not wanting to come here. This team is a complete mess from top to bottom. There are some bright spots but not enough to warrant any serious consideration from a FA especially one of any significance. |

I like Komisarek personally..........is he a top 2 dman, NO. But, he's certainly not the problem with the leafs. I wouldnt give up prospect for him, because of that salary, but i would not mind him on my team. Good character guy - kindlyrick

I wouldn't mind giving him a chance as a 3, 4, or 5 Dman... Wouldn't give too much for him. Don't really think it would take too much especially if the Leafs are looking decent come the trade deadline and the fans are harping on him. Salary dump for them. |
