i can't see him getting your estimated/guessed totals.. i would figure in the 30 to 35 goals and 25 or so assists... unless something greatly changes with this team that is hi ceiling or sealing..

Relatively healthy? He's had nagging injuries these past few years and I don't see that changing. He'll never see 40 goals again. - sippyd
I'm with you Sip. He hasn't been healthy, he's just been playing hurt. I don't think it's the beating he takes in front of the net so much as the hacks and slashes I see him take when he gets free on the way to the net. Maybe the new team toughness can help with that.

I love the acceptance of others and acute focus on inclusivity. - RynoBull
I have no problems with other teams fans coming on but dont talk trash. Notice there is a Habs fan who often posts but he doesnt post bad things about others. But have I guess you like reading people talking trash, just another thign we dont agree on but to each his own.

Meh, I find it far more amusing reading posts from outsiders since there is a lot of group think with the few dozen sabres full timers on here.

Vanek will benefit from a shortened season. Unfortunately, the style Vanek plays makes him likely to get injured. He has been banged up the past few seasons, and IMO a little extra time off (if there is a lockout) should help.
How many goals are scored because of him that he gets no credit for? He takes a beating setting up in front of the net, but the screens he sets allow others to score while he gets no credit for a goal or an assist.
IMO when Vanek is healthy and on his game he is one of the best wingers in the NHL. That's not me hyping up my teams players, that is what I honestly believe.
BTW, here is a nice interview of Michael Peca that I found on YouTube.
Skip to 9:25 to hear his comments on the Sabres off-season and the CBA talks. Everything in the video before 9:25 and after 11:10 pertains to the Buffalo Junior Sabres, so maybe that will save those of you only interested in the NHL club some time.

It won't matter how many goals he scores because hopefully he will be doing it in another team's sweater...

I'd still like to see Van and Pommenville play with an above average/talented center. Not that I know how to get one or who, but I might keep the beating off vanek/open up some space for him and get his point total higher. Still think this team is missing a key piece or 2 to be a very legit playoff team.

just 1 or 2? try about 3 or 4... they need vet leadership, another scoring winger, a real top line center, solid shut down dman and a new coach
