Right now, the Sahraks have 20 player contracts signed for the 2012-13 season.
What is a Sahrak?
Sounds like something off a Battlestar Galactica episode.
Garth. S-L-O-W D-O-W-N (or is it "slow Doan"?) when you're writing, and above all, proofread. That is blogger 101. Proofreading. |

GARTH: Report: Doan To Sharks? - garth
Has anyone else noticed that Doan just isn't that good?
In my humble opinion, anyone getting that kind of contract should have been invited to the 2010 Olympics. |

When will it end? When will all of this Shane Doan lunacy end, for good? Just when you thought it was safe....
....Garth blogs about Doan yet again.
Stop worrying about it, and it will soon be over. Just do as I'm choosing to do now, regarding Doan, ignore it. |

doan's the last thing they need. the sharks are old and they play too slow...don't need another guy who is just starting to plod. they need a retooling w/ an influx of younger plyrs. |

Dude are you (frank)ing kidding me? - mochoson
So let me get this straight...
-This is another blog about Shane Doan and about how he could sign with the Sharks (who are no closer to signing him then anyone else).
-The Sharks, however, are not at all close to signing Doan and would have to make a deal because they have less than 6 million in cap space.
-This is because Shane Doan is guaranteed at least 7.5 million dollars because the Sabres made a ridiculous offer for Doan.
-......even though everyone else on the planet knows that is Doans asking price for EVERYONE OTHER THAN PHOENIX until further notice is 7.5 x 4 http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=401580
-It is then suggested that Doan, who has averaged 50 points a season his entire career, could conceivably be paid 8 million dollars a year, putting him in the same bracket salary wise as Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin....
-The absolute best part might be the "Doan is not going to give up 2+ mill in salary to play in San Jose. He's old and this is his last big contract", again, as if he is gurranteed 7.5 million at a minimum.
-So to recap: The Sharks may or may not be in on Shane Doan, Shane Doan may or may not be interested in the Sharks, the Sharks have to make cap space first if they are to land Doan, Doan could end up making 8+ million, which translated means Shane Doan remains no closer to signing anywhere today as he was when the season ended and there is nothing new and/or relevant left to discuss regarding his situation at this time.
Ok.

Yep, that's Garth in a nutshell.
Soon, the "Marleau/Thornton/Pavelski/Couture, and who ever else centers any one of their other lines to Buffalo" rumor blogs will commence.
Well, at least it's better than the Franz Nielson to Buffalo blog that caused me to wretch all over my laptop.
With all of Garth's "connections", I want to hear about some real rumors, not who he "thinks" would look good in a Sabres' uniform. |

Joe Thornton is retiring a San Jose Shark. End of story. Move on to your next target so you don't waste your time talking about something that will never happen. |
|

He would take less to play on the West Coast. So yes he could leave money on the table if it meant not having to uproot his family. School will be starting soon its getting late in the process.
LA-he could literally commute back and forth to practice by plane. Its like a 45-50 minute flight.
San Jose - well maybe not a daily commute, but only an hour more of flight |

Given doans age, he may be worth 6 mil for 1 year or 10 mil for two
But even that's a stretch
Sabres need to move elsewhere

Well, he wrote what felt like 9 blogs about Steve Ott, and now he's a Sabre.
Maybe Garth just thinks that highly of Doan and want's him that bad. Maybe he thinks he's a wizard or something ridiculous.
Gotta admire the creativity/persistence. |

How about Daymond Langkow, if we're looking for a 3rd line center? |
