Any team that offers Kane between 5.05 and 6.73 million (will be at least that for Winnipeg not to match) has to give up a 1st, a 2nd and a 3rd, but depending on the team that makes the offer, it may be worth it. The team has to add on another 1st if the offer is upwards of 6.73. Kane isn't worth that, but some owner might throw that much dough at him because of the time of year. The summer is madness. If I'm Montreal I definitely explore the option of signing him to an offer sheet worth 5.5-6.5 mil.

Kane for 6.7 mill while JT makes only 5.5 million.

After last year, Tavares at 5.5 is a bargain. Besides, I said 6.7 as the upper limit of the RFA compensation. I'd think twice about offering him more than 6 mil.

Montreal offer sheet someone?

Thats laughable ek, Montreal barely have the stones to pull off major trades let alone offer sheets. They dont do business that way, simple as that.

Keep dreaming though.

- DeathStar

Mike Cammalleri agrees.

The habs will not offer sheet anybody. They have enough issues with signing PK and getting rid of high priced contracts already...

- Eklund

Eklund to screw with a salary structure of a team like you said 12 million lol.....

That would just be stupid for the team making the offer. It would screw their own salary structure up and the jets would get something like 4 1rst rounders

Yes they do!

Actually stand corrected!2nd and 3rd owed to Winnepeg!Don't know the rules but would bet there is a loophole!4 first rounds for Weber,no one has 4 in a year so must be a loophole?

Subban negotiations are going fine and he's going to sign soon. Gomez and Kaberle will be dealt with, but Bergevin can do that anytime before October. They have as good a chance as any team to offer sheet Kane.

Teams stay away from offer sheets because it asks for retaliation from other clubs.

It's funny how slow things are in the NHL where eklund makes Kane out to be worth a huge offer sheet

Agreed. Also You already have Galchenyuk(in 1 to 2 years) Pleks, Deharnais, Eller...I would first give Eller the best shot possible before doing anything. They still got guys who need to prove themselves within the organization. Also if I am MB I know that the team isnt going to be a contender next season and that what he is going for. COnsidering his trust in Timmins and his involvement in the Draft I dont think he is going to give away 3 draft picks considering next years draft is supposed to be a good one.

Would have made more sense to offer sheet Stamkos last year

When is Girouz an RFA? I hear the Isles may put in an offer. Imagine JT and Giroux

They are going to be in trouble I guarantee another club offer sheets fro Giroux and that will seriously screw the salary structure of the Flyers up

Just to mention Semin is still on the market and I understand that eveyone is affraid or smth but BS! A strong coach can deal with players and btw Semin's goals for the past 6 seasons: 38 , 26, 34, 40, 28, 21.

I'm not too sure, maybe you should ask James Dolan and the entire Knicks front office.

:/

Regardless, E.Kane is an awesome talent. I'd advocate for the Rangers to offer sheet him, but I don't think that's the wisest move with DelZotto and Stralman RFA's right now, and Stepan, Hagelin, Anisimov, Kreider, and McDonagh RFA's in the next couple of years.

Just like with Philly, I can easily see some teams throwing offer sheets at Simmonds, Voracek, Couturier, Schenn, and even Giroux.

Agreed 100%. A strong coach and a solid locker room make his "personality issues" a non-factor.

Thats if there isnt going to be any modification in the CBA next season. This is why we are seeing the crazy offers and the offer sheet(I remind you there has only been ONE!) being thrown out there.

Exactly, someone offers G $8 mil a year, and if the Flyers match someone will be able to take Schenn or Couturier and the Flyers wont be able to keep both.

Yeah, true. We really have no idea what it'll be like, especially with some of the ridiculous demands of the owners.
