Random Notes

- Where We Stand – After yesterday’s play, the Nashville Predators have 79 points in 69 games played and remain 3rd in the Central Division, leading St. Louis by two points. The Blues have a game in hand on Nashville. Per sportsclubstats.com, the Predators playoff chances are at 89.6%.

- Impact Game Warning - STL @ ANA – One of the few difficult games left for the Blues, who are riding a five game win streak. This is the first of a back-to-back for St. Louis, they are in San Jose tomorrow night. After this back-to-back, five of their next seven are against Arizona and Colorado.

- Nice article on si.com from Daniel Friedman about smaller players being successful in today’s NHL with a couple of nice quotes from Viktor Arvidsson in it. Here is the link.

- James Neal’s game winner on Monday night was his 20th of the season, marking the ninth time he has posted 20 goals. He has at least 20 in each of his NHL seasons and is one of six active players to achieve that feat.

- The Predators now have three 20 goal scorers, Neal, Filip Forsberg (28) and Viktor Arvidsson (24) … Mike Fisher is in striking distance at 17 for the campaign.

- Unaware of any practice time today, the team is scheduled to fly to Washington this afternoon.

- Washington managed to snap their losing streak last night, topping Minnesota 4-2.

- Eight games in the NHL tonight, all times CST – 6pm – CBJ @ PHI, TBL @ NYR. 6:30pm – CAR @ NYI. 7pm – WPG @ NSH. 8pm – 8pm – PIT @ CGY. 9pm – BOS @ VAN, COL @ ARI. 9:30pm – STL @ LAK.
