Defenseman Thomas Hickey will miss four weeks with an upper body injury. Hickey left Monday's game vs the Capitals with the injury. Head Coach Jack Capuano has yet to announce a replacement. The two candidates are Ryan Pulock and Brian Strait. Pulock has improved as the preseason has gone on. He really should get the first shot. You know what you have with Strait. He will get exposed if he plays regularly.

Forward Steve Bernier will be out for 1-2 weeks with an undisclosed injury. It leaves the door open for Kirill Petrov or Eric Boulton to make the opening night roster. I would think it would be Boulton if Petrov does not make the top 12. Petrov can be sent down to Bridgeport without needing to be passed through waivers.

2014 first-round draft pick Michael Dal Colle and 2015 first-round draft pick Anthony Beauvillier have both been returned to juniors. Dal Colle really did not do anything to impress during the preseason. Beauvillier looked pretty good at times. We will hear more from both of them next season.

Dan and Noel select their over/unders for a bunch of Islander topics.
