"PLUS/MINUS is the NHL's best stat, and the only one I use"
- Craig Button*

PLUS: The First Round of the NHL Playoffs. It's always the best - double, triple headers, every other night.....tons of fun, surprises. It's not that the rest of the Playoffs aren't also fun, but weirdly, nothing beats the first round. It's like hockey-christmas.

PLUS: Double Over-Time games where the Leafs win. Best game I have ever seen in my life.

PLUS: Ice. Cold. Milk

MINUS: Nothing.

PLUS: When you spend two years writing constantly about how an NHL team could stack itself with rookies, and talking about how 19 and 20 year olds would do way better in the NHL if given more of a chance, and then it actually happens, you look like a genius and NHL teams are lining up to find out what other secrets you know.

MINUS: I thought these kind of dreams are supposed to stop when you grow up!

PLUS: Sectional Couches!!

PLUS: For my birthday, my wife bout me the Steven Seagal four pack. It was our most romantic gift exchange ever.

MINUS: The four pack didn't have Exit Wounds and X was not able to give it to me.

PLUS: I watched the movie Boyhood though I usually reserve my movie recommendations for the kinds of films one hesitates to even call "films," there is a reason this is the best reviewed movie in the history of review aggregators.

To call it the best movie I've ever seen would be an insult to Dr. Seagal, however it probably is.

At least one of them. I was stunned by how good this movie is.

PLUS: I've also been reading the new Don DeLillo book Zero K and I continue to work my way through the Windwaker so it's been a good week for things that are the best.

PLUS: The Coyotes should fire Dave Tippett and hire Daryl Suter. Now. Before someone else hires him.

PLUS: The Easter Bunny brought my son a chocolate Stanley Cup, which he promptly raised over his head like "my boy Morgan Rielly is gonna do."

PLUS: Hey Boys, it doesn't get any better than this.

PLUS: Kid Rock's political views may be grosser than his stained tank-top, but the boy could teach Braden Holtby a thing or two about wearing a fedora.

PLUS: Is that the Blackhawks I see on the verge of elimination?

MINUS: I know I said there were no minuses, but I'm still reeling from the cancelation of the show Limitless.

MINUS: It's fun the Oilers are finally good, but it's sad to think about wasting three first overall picks.

PLUS: My new Alberta team is the Flames. I love these guys.....such a fun team to watch. I don't know why anyone lets Brian Burke near their team after what happened in Toronto, but credit where it's due.

PLUS: Watching the Masters all weekend........just joking. I ain't no golf-watching fat-cat! Are you kidding me? Seriously, I will make fun of people who watch golf on TV every day, forever and ever.

MINUS: When people write "I be like" and then post a picture. You suck at communicating. Don't do that.

PLUS: It's kind of funny, after years of hand-wringing and speculation about him joining their team, the Leafs basically made the Playoffs because Steven Stamkos was injured for the entire year.

MINUS: Steve Simmons said in his column that there are NHL GMs who want an 8th vs 9th seed playoff play-in. In my opinion - and why else are you here - the NHL can stick that idea somewhere dark and gross with the glowing puck and the idea of ads on jerseys.

MINUS: The Kings giving into panic and stupidity and firing Dean Lombardi and Daryl Suter. If you don't currently employ Babcock, Jullien or Quenville, you should probably fire your coach and hire Suter.

PLUS: In my entire life, the Toronto Maple Leafs have only had one NHL Trophy winner. It was Doug Gilmour in 1993. This year, they should have two - Auston Matthews is a guaranteed Calder winner, and Nazem Kadri should blow up Ron Wilson's head when he wins his first Selke.

MINUS: In the department of NHL teams being impossible stupid - why are Buffalo, Winnipeg, Dallas, and especially Colorado keeping their General Managers? What do you have to do to get fired as a GM in the NHL? Holy Crap.

PLUS: Two games in, the best player on either team has been Jake Gardiner. I will accept your apologies by fax, or you can beep me.

MINUS: Damn, I know we're getting negative here but you know what drives me nuts? People who say "frigging." I just spent a day yesterday with three people who say that every other word. It's disgusting. If you can't swear properly, don't.

I swear a lot. I don't even care if you swear in front of my kids - swearing is about the dumbest thing people care about - but don't say 'friggin'......have some class dawg!

PLUS: Don Cherry. Love him or hate him, the guy knows hockey better than anyone. He's still the only intermission thing worth watching.......and I know, because since I quit smoking I actually have to watch intermissions and they are terrible.

PLUS: The Jets claiming they'll keep Paul Maurice. Hahahahahahahahha just kidding, that's only a plus because I don't play and/or cheer for the Jets. As far as terrible hockey decisions, this one falls somewhere between dressing Colton Orr and Frazer McLaren for a playoff game and wearing a fedora.

PLUS:Getting along with people who believe different things than you. Very important.

MINUS: Seriously, fire Joe Sakic. What are you thinking?

PLUS: The Islanders hired a guy to go around and as other GMs if Garth Snow was doing a good job? And they lied and said yes and now they're going to keep him? If that isn't the most Islanders thing of all time, then Boys, I don't know...... here's a crazy idea: know something about the sport you own a team in. Also, don't do that.

Happy Easter.
