This kind of feels wrong because I had the Washington Capitals going to the Stanley Cup in my preseason prediction post but I'm going to go with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Over the last few months they've been the best team in hockey. Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang are playing to the best of their abilities and depth players like Matt Cullen and Conor Sheary have been nothing short of excellent.

With how well Braden Holtby is playing it's scary picking against the Caps but I think the Penguins are too deep and playing too well to go against them. Give me the Pens in 6.

Pens all the way.

Before Caps fans get sour hear me out. The Pens roster is playing a better more well-rounded game right now. They saw a team on the ropes and went for the kill. They came on strong later in the season, Crosby seems revived and they look dangerous in almost all aspects of their game.

It won't be easy though and while the deciding factor may be between the pipes in Holtby he will have to be on another level. Picking series can be done with a variety of metrics and stats but this one for me is all gut. The Crosby Ovechkin debate all over and with the recent downturn in Crosby's game, or rather alleged perception of such should motivate him to push towards another Stanley Cup.
