Buffalo Sabres GM Jason Botterill is making moves to Rochester Amerks roster.

On Thursday, Botterill traded away forward prospect Hudson Fasching to the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for defenseman Brandon Hockey and forward Mike Sislo.

Former Sabres GM Tim Murray acquired Fasching and Nic Deslauriers from the LA Kings to Buffalo in exchange for Brayden McNabb and two second-round picks.

Safe to say the Kings got the better of the Fasching deal.

Fasching is a pending restricted free agent that Botterill chose not to tender a contract extension offer to.

Fasching played 22 NHL games with the Sabres over the past three seasons.Fasching has struggled to find his scoring touch in AHL Rochester. Last season, Fasching scored a career-high 30 points foor the Amerks.

Fasching, who will turn 23 in July, played four seasons at the University of Minnesota. He was a fourth round pick of the in 2013.

Hickey, 22, who just completed his senior season at Boston University, was a third round selection of the Calgary Flames. Hickey was acquired by the Coyotes last summer from the Calgary Flames as part of the Mike Smith trade. The Flames worried that they would not be able to sign the Alberta native, who they had drafted in 2014, however, at the time had already played three seasons in the NCAA and was not yet looking to forego his senior year playing for the Terriers. Hickey is now a member of Buffalo's ever-expanding #BUMafia with his former teammates Jack Eichel, Evan Rodrigues and Danny O'Regan. Sabres assistant general manager Steve Greeley is also a BU Terrier alum.

Sislo, a 30 year old veteran forward with only 3 NHL games on his resume.

Earlier in the day on Thursday, Botterill re-signed defensemen Andrew MacWilliam and Arvin Atwal.

On Wednesday, Botterill re-signed veteran rear guard Zach Redmond to a two-year contract.

Botterill also signed goalie prospect Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen to a three-year, entry-level contract.
