It’s no secret. We’ve reached the null point of the summer, and most of the Canadiens’ business has been taken care of, this month.

Many will speculate over Plekanec’s fate, now that’s he’s nailed down a raise for 1 season. What about Jaroslav Halak now that Curtis Sanford is in the picture? And the Kostitsyn brothers; what becomes of the main remnants of a sullied Centennial edition of the Montreal Canadiens?

These questions have answers, but it’s not expected that anything will be revealed to us in the immediate future.

Gregory Stewart, and Matt D’Agostini remain the only unsigned players that the Canadiens have exclusive rights to. With roughly 3 million dollars in cap space, if Bob Gainey aims to make more changes, they’ll have to be implemented through trade.

So it gets a little boring, until rookie camp opens up; training camp thereafter, and as a bonus—a season opener on the first of October—more than a week earlier than last year’s start.
