You Decide: Doughty for Stastny? Insane or Not? |

A "rumor" from someone pretending to be Nick Kypreos was tweeted out that the Avs and Kings are discussing a Stastny for Doughty swap? While there is no rumor validity to this one, it is an interesting trade to debate on a theoretical level.
I am a Stastny fan. His salary makes him difficult to trade, however. Taking the salary out of the equation, there are few players with better hockey sense than Paul Stastny. I would put Stastny right up there with Brad Richards, whom the Kings missed out on as an unrestricted free agent this past summer.
Doughty, on the other hand, is a top 5 defenseman in the NHLer whose long-term upside rivals one time Av Ray Bourque. I really can't imagine Drew being dealt, but this situation in LA is starting to get ugly. Salary-wise, this theoretical trade would work out.
All that said, defensemen come at a higher premium than quality forwards. You can't easily replace a Drew Doughty and I could see this trade turning the Avalanche into a legit playoff team. I don't think it would help LA as much.
What's the Buzz??
1. Who do you would think gets the best in this deal?
2. Should the Kings do it if it became possible?
3. Should the Avalanche do it if it became possible?
