Why we shouldn't be afraid of Donald Fehr.

The owners are definitely afraid Donald Fehr...

I am constantly hearing how he does not have any respect for the game, the history, or cultures. Fehr is a baseball guy. Hockey is NOT his sport. I tell them regardless...this is not a reason to fear Donald Fehr.

Donalds Fehr is a career representative and negotiator... above all else he listens to his constituents. People are always asking me why I am so optimistic? People are always asking me why I think a deal will get done? The answer is really so much more simple this time around than it was in 2004 - 2005. Goodenow wanted to control the players. I don't get that sense from Fehr at all.

All the players have to do is go to Fehr and tell him they want a deal done by some date in December and I'm quite confident a deal will done by that date. The time is now for players to make their voices heard.

NOW is the time for the players to make that statement. If you are an NHL player this is your time to guide your representative. A player overseas texted me earlier today "what do you think we can do to help the situation?"

Tell your leader you want the best deal possible, but also tell him that NO deal and cancelling a season is unacceptable.

He will listen. He is not unreasonable. He actually does know that he represents players and their interests. Tell him what you want. Don't hesitate.

I am hearing good things. I am feeling hockey isn't to far off.

The only way it isn't is if the owners and players don't demand their representative to make it so.
