...I am currently working on a blog and will be releasing my one of my favorite blogs..."Desperation Ratings for Thie 2011-2012 Season," but I thought it might be interesting to see where you all place these teams in your head and then compare your opinions with the results of my formula.
Rumor Update:
Leafs in on Brassard?
It's no secret that the Leafs are working the phones hard right now in search of more offense. Trust me when I say that everyone I talk to tell me Brian Burke is not taking the 2-0 start to mean this team is in any way complete.
Are the latest rumor of Brassard being pursued tied to Toronto? The answer appears to be: Possibly. Now I know "Possibly" isn't a strong conviction but it isn't a "no chance" and when dealing with the Leafs that is pertinent.
The Leafs also are interested in Brayden Schenn from Philly. I wouldn't say Schenn is available at this point, but the Flyers have shown a ton of depth and Schenn is sitting in the minors getting his game back after a preseason injury...
Add to this the unspoken word around the Flyers was "Schenn would be up when Couturier gets sent back to Juniors..." I am not so convinced that Couturier will be going back. He has looked very intelligent out there and his defensive presence has made him rival Jordan Staal's rookie year in many ways...he is even killing penalties with Max Talbott.
Introducing Rob Simpson
We are quite excited to be announce that NHL writer/analyst Rob Simpson has joined the the Hockeybuzz team for this season. Rob brings a ton of knowledge and an often unique perspective to the game. You will find him in the upper right column. Rob is up top for more than his professionalism. Rob is officially the tallest writer on the site! Standing next to him last night between periods in the Flyers Press Box and talking to him I was reminded of being 8 years old and talking to an adult.

There is also no truth to the Rumor that Rob Simpson "HAS" to write here because I stoned him on this breakaway during the NHL Media Game last year before the AlllStar Game in Raleigh North Carolina...(that's just why he has to do it for free:) (not true...or is it?)
