Kovalchuk has been told to prepare to be moved.
according to TSN, per RDS...
"Thrashers general manager Don Waddell met with the star forward on Wednesday and told him to expect a trade to another NHL team over the next few hours or days."
Updated: I am told Calgary is out, Anaheim is in...however my money..and I know it's a bit out of left field...the NJ devils
Realistically I am told, this will take a few days.
MANY of these team names are names we have been hearing and writing about for some time now, and I would add Vancouver to that list still as an outside possibility.
According to a source familiar with the situation, I am told that all those teams are in this thing, and it is still wide open, but the team leading the way....may really surprise people...I believe that team is NJ
Based on what I am hearing, as of this minute, the team leading the way is not LA, NYR, Chicago, NJ or Boston.
The Thrashers appear to be in focus with one team here. One team who can offer exactly what they want. Something to help them in the future and now. It is the deal Atlanta has been holding out for I was told.
However, I can't stress enough how fast this can change and how another one of those teams I mentioned as not leading the way could steal the prize..
I hope to know more and be able to tell you more shortly.
There are always clues....everywhere.
