Gotta love Michalek's hat last night. I have been a huge fan of this kid for a few years now, always feeling he was about to explode onto the scene and be a star in this league. Last night he put a three-spot up on Tampa and really...the kid is on his way to stardom.
The Sens are in first in the Division...as are the Rangers and Caps....Meanwhile, our three division leaders out West, Colorado, Chicago, and Phoenix continue to just roll. What an interesting start so far.
Speaking of the Sens, they are still looking for one more d-man and there is some talk that they have interest in the Panthers Jordan Leopold.
The Canadiens looked better last night at times, at least in the first and third periods, but Markov's loss is just killing them. The Habs are definitely shopping for defensive help right now. A name I keep hearing is Dan Hamhuis out of Nashville. There were no shortage of scouts watching the Preds play last night and a rumored deal of Hamhuis for Plekanec has been circulating this morning. It is an interesting trade that could help both sides. The Preds are desperate for scoring right now.
