Start here on this Monday...

On Evander Kane...

Yes, I myself am getting tired of writing about the Maple Leafs. While rumors in Toronto always exist i have sort of prided myself on being very picky when it comes to weeding through the many, many rumors which surround this team.

But all I can say is there is a definite buzz about the Leafs right now that you simply can't get away from. It is a buzz that comes from an almost overwhelming sense that this is a team "not fully cooked."

The Reimer signing further linked the Leafs to the Jets, and now I am hearing word that Evander Kane, once not really an option in Toronto, now could be. At least one source added, "The Team is more open to an Evander Kane deal than it was even a week ago."

On Brodeur...

Washington has done a bunch to bolster its defense and by bringing in Barry Trotz you can be assured the team will play harder in their own end. Now there is word that Martin Brodeur has the Caps as one of the teams he is looking toward....whether that means he gets invited to a camp, or just waits this season out, we will see. Retirement is an option, but I get a feeling that Marty will let the season go a bit.
