More and more, it's looking like the Avalanche will be able to get their price in trade for Ryan O'Reilly if the team is unable to come to terms with the restricted free agent (which is still not close). According to one trusted source, there are currently "at least eight" NHL teams that have discussed trade packages for the 22-year-old two-way center.
Although much of the recent rumors have centered around the Rangers offering Michael Del Zotto, it sounds like the Florida Panthers may also be one of the favorites.
The source said that the Avalanche would like to "get this done and move on soon" but will wait first to see how high the bidding will go. They have the ability to do so, because of the multiple offers coming their way.
Stay tuned!
