Minnesota, Florida, Edmonton, Ottawa and St. Louis are the teams with the prospect depth that allow them to offer up highly attractive packages. You assume Colorado wants a guy who can play some D for them right now as well as an elite prospect. Florida certainly has the pieces. Gudbranson or Kulikov would get my attention if either were included in a package along with a prospect.

I obviously wanted the Avs to sign O'Reilly but one way or another, this needs to be resolved soon.
By putting his own greediness over the good of the team it appears he has worn out his welcome in Denver (even in the locker room if you read between the lines of Duchene's latest comments). I don't believe he has earned Duchene money (especially the way Dutchy has played this year) but I'm sure he'll make somebody a fine two-way, third-line center so package up those picks and prospects and send 'em this way
A few more early-round picks for the Avs and if the Edmonton game was any indication of the way things are going, the Edmonton/Colorado battle is going to be really exciting for a LONG time to come...

The only place this guy would be a #1 centre is Toronto. Then again certain fans believe the Leafs have 5 NHL quality Dman LULz. That being said O'Reilly isnt worth what Colorado is asking for 2 NHL level players, a prospect and a pick. My sources are better than Eks.

For some teams the demand seems to be excessive. But for the teams with a deep prospect list this is not excessive. Columbus could get the deal done without even breaking a sweat. Ottawa has all the pieces and desperately needs scoring help. But, I think Tallon should have the inside track. If he can get O'Reilly, even if he overpays, he can make that up by dealing Weiss in a separate transaction.

Because we are creeping on mid season and some teams are in desperation mode the demand is similar to Nash's, when obviously Nash and O'Reilly are different talents. Colorado is in a great position with teams with deep pockets ready to go into a bidding war, Don't kid me wrong O'Reilly is a young skilled 2-way forward who has yet to reach his full potential who anyone would take on their team but I definately wouldn't want my team to give up that asking price.
