Late Night Quick Hit Rumors. Could Sens Move Spezza, Sign Kovalchuk? More

Rumors circulating tonight about Kovalchuk.

Don't be so quick to say Kovalchuk to the Kings is a given. Yes, I was the guy who said he was heading to Los Angeles as a UFA On July 1, 2010 going back to the trade deadline in March, when I said "the Kings know, and everyone in the NHL confirms that Kovalchuk wants to go one place only in July, and that's to Los Angeles.. Therefore it is hard for the Kings to offer up much at the deadline when they can get him for nothing in July."

All that being said, I am hearing the Ottawa Senators owners are also looking at this situation as the biggest potential break form the franchise as well, and the Spezza talk may be led by the need for cap space so that they could then make a play.

Savard to the Kings Close?

It really appears that we could see Savard dealt to the Leafs in the next 24 hours...however, the Kaberle deal I am told is not to Boston...rather Pittsburgh..

Savard and Kessel had great chemistry in the past, but there is another player out there who Savard had even better chemistry with...a player many feel made Savard's career. That would be Kovalchuk...whom I still can't help but think Toronto gets in on..

Leafs and Habs Talking?

It hasn't happened much in their storied histories, but there are rumors tonight the Canadiens may have, or are putting together, what may amount to the best offer for Kaberle. Would they do it? We will have to see...

It's getting good!
