Just a quick tidbit here...I am working on a bigger blog which may show a pretty substantial tactical shift on one side...

However, according to a source, The NHL has informed the teams, if a lockout occurs on September 15th, the teams can tell their respective arenas that the next 30 days of dates are free to the arenas to re-schedule...

From my source..."while a September 15th lockout won't come with an announcement that the start of the season has been canceled it might as well mean that because the dates will be filled by the arenas at that point."

I am also told this 30 days will float, so in essence with every day that passes the arenas will be capable of filling in dates 30 days in advance... So this also gives us insight into the NHL's lead time...That the NHL feels they need 30 days from a signed CBA until puck drop...

With many saying Black Friday in America, November 23rd is a date the NHL really would like to start the season, does this mean October 23rd is a deadline of sorts? October 23 would be one week after the players would miss their first paycheck as well.
