On TJ Oshie:
As I reported a few days ago, the Kings are talking to Vegas about the Knights possibly taking Dustin Brown along with the #11 pick overall....that's some background here, because I do believe this rumor I heard today has some connection to that deal. Two major changes appear to have occurred over the past few days here...The NY Islanders are looking elsewhere and NOT likely to get in on the Oshie talk (more likely Duchene or Drouin....) and the LA Kings are now VERY much a factor for TJ Oshie...
On Mike Smith...
It is no secret that Philly is without a starter (they do have Neuvirth under contract, but that appears to be more of a backup) and the Flyers see Carter Hart, the young Canadian top flight prospect, as their goalie for the roaring twenties (been dying to call the 2020's that). Hart is coming along well, but realistically is 2, probably 3 years from taking the helm...But this Flyers team is not in a total rebuild and is still competitive...Funny enough, late in the season I heard a rumor the Flyers may try and trade for Pekka Rinne....doubt that now.
So the Flyers need a two year answer who can keep them competitive and transition their very strong young D group and what looks to be Nolan Patrick...They could sign Mason for a short term deal, but I keep hearing the Flames may have a beat on Mason...the Kings are also interested in Mason.
Mike Smith has two years to go on his contract in Arizona and has what I feel is the perfect personality for a Flyers goalie with this group. Very mature and very competitive...one of the true great guys in the game as well...I have thought he was the right fit for a while, but I kept hearing the Flyers were going to make a play for Ben Bishop...Bishop's signing with Dallas takes that off the table...

I don't know any names involved here, and I fully feel it would have to be a very enticing deal and would include this year's #1, Galchenyuk+. That's just speculation though...no source yet on that one...
