Cam Fowler is a great hockey player. The fact that he is available is very odd to be sure, but the reality is the Ducks know they can get something bigger for Fowler and they have to get younger and more scoring up front.
Of course this is all tied to Hampus Lindholm and isn't happening until he has signed in Anaheim...
There is some news on that front as well...the sides are talking, but I am starting to hear what feels like negotiation leaks...information leaking out with the intention of it getting reported and therefore putting added pressure on both sides...and that can mean this isn't going well behind closed doors.
However, teams are paying close attention and don't want to miss out on the opportunity for a player at Fowler's level. The price will be high however. The Ducks can get a ransom for Fowler and they know it. They have the depth on the defensive end to make this move.
One NHL source told me there are as many as 6 teams involved...possibly more.
