As USA Thanksgiving Approaches Rumors Will Mount ...Guerin and Habs/LA? |

The week after American Thanksgiving signifies not only the beginning of the Christmas shopping season, but the beginning of GMs no longer being able to say, "It's still early. Let's see how things play out." In other words, the NHL rumor season is quickly coming upon us...
So who needs what?
Essentially there are two types of buyers early...Teams who are perceived to be overachieving but still have cap space (see St. Louis, LA, and Columbus) and teams who are expected to be in the hunt but aren't (see Buffalo, NJ, Toronto, Calgary, Phoenix)
The issue is of course, with all teams within a few points, you don't have any sellers as of yet, so what I can see more of this year are two teams making player for player deals of guys who may be a help if they are given a fresh start...
This is why we are going to continue to hear names like Bieksa, Savard, Corey Schneider and the rest...
On Billy Guerin...
There is a lot of talk out there of the Canadiens having interest in Bill Guerin. My sources tell me there are a few teams who would love to have Guerin and it's really up to whether or not Billy wants to move his family again. I have heard the Canadiens, Kings, and Predators would all take a shot at Guerin if he decided he wanted to move.
more to come this afternoon....
