Today another coach hit the market, as the Flames dismissed Bob Hartley. Hartley has a Stanley Cup on his resume and is a master at having his teams prepared to play 60 minute games.

Chuck Fletcher has already stated that he will sit down this week with interim coach John Torchetti and that he will not pursue any other options until he has met with Torch.

The Wild are in need of a new direction that is for sure. It is time to go outside of the organization and get a fresh start.

There are options for the Wild, and there are options that the coaching candidates have to mull over as well.

The fact is the Wild have been mired in a state of mediocrity for a very long time and a new coach is needed to take the Wild in a new direction.

Zach Parise and Ryan Suter are not getting any younger and their contracts are soon going to be very large albatrosses to the future of the franchise. The time to capitalize is now and Chuck Fletcher must put his best foot forward in hiring the next bench boss for the Minnesota Wild.
