1) The Russian national under-20 squad defeated their Sweden counterparts, 4-1, at the Four Nations Tournament in the Czech Republic on Friday. Neither German Rubtsov (two shots on goal, one minor penalty) nor Mikhail Vorobyov (zero shots, plus-one) figured in any of the scoring. Russia scored twice early in the first period and never looked back. A replay of the full game is available here.

2) Flyers power forward Wayne Simmonds turns 28 years old today. Here's a look back at all of his goals from his career high 32-goal season in 2015-16.

3) Today in Flyers History: One of the most regrettable trades in franchise history went down on August 26, 1987. In the midst of a second straight contract squabble with Brad McCrimmon, general manager Bob Clarke trades the top-pairing shutdown stalwart to the Calgary Flames for a 1989 first-round pick (later traded to Toronto along with an additional first-rounder for goaltender Ken Wregget) and a 1988 third-round pick (with which the Flyers selected goalie Dominic Roussel).

4) 2) The Phantoms posted a video of rookie defenseman Reece Willcox talking about Flyers development camp and his outlook on his upcoming first full season of AHL hockey.
